What feedback should I give?

We are here to discuss cards not act like little *****es outing each other every time something goes wrong. Save an outing for when its worth it - like when bolly got ripped off 4 grand.

Issues like these can easily be dealt with by reporting it to the mods as per the site rules.

i didnt think there was a reason to report it to the mods? he didnt rip me off, or abuse me, or anything bad?
i asked a simple question as to what others would do because id never been in this situation before. wasnt aware i had to report to the mods if i wanted to leave negative FB?
you keep going on about an outing, but if i wouldve left him negative FB without opening this thread, he wouldve been outed anyway with a bad comment plus a neg to his name? this way, i mightve still left positive feedback if a few other peeps wouldve said thats what they would do. not opening it wouldve left a red mark next to his name straight away, which is what it seems pretty much everyone wouldve done.
if the mods think this thread is out of order, then they can shut it down.
no need to resort to name calling...

I'm pretty sure this sums up the situation!

Sorry Sgt_Pepper - its not targeted at you or your thread specifically. I just think to much outing of people have been going on lately around here generally. IMO most of the time it comes across as pretty immature.

The mods are here to provide guidance on these issues - they should be first call for these types of things.

I agree with Owen here, some members here may have too much testosterone and tend to be aggressive in dealing with rights and wrongs. The MODS should be the first point of contact when somebody breaks the rules.

Feedback is at the member's discretion and not the mods. They only step in when it's not correct or unwarranted. You should leave feedback that suits how the transaction went. If you step out of line with it, then the mods can correct it. However the mods can be sort for advice if you are not sure what to leave.

I think if you sent this original question to Matt or Billy they would be happy to give an opinion.

yeah thats true. but we all know what their response would be. i was hoping NOT to give negative feedback and was looking for a reason not to.
to me mods are like cops. i try and keep away from them and certainly would never call them. no offense to any mods, you all do a great job...

i hope i didnt come off as aggressive. i was trying to be impartial, and like i said hoping i could save the dude a negative.

Alex, your basically suggesting that we all be babysat by the mods then?!?

The feedback system is there for the safety and information of ALL members, it is designed to leave YOUR feedback on THAT deal..... If he was told it was going to be sent one way, paid for it to be sent that way and then got it another way, which was also not following the rules of the site and generally just showing that the seller didn't even give a hoot about how it arrived and HE was dissatisfied with that it is well within HIS rights to leave Negative feedback, the fact he even asked the question was telling us all that he wasn't happy!!

The mods have lives, families and enough crap to deal with on this site, that they dont get paid to run/moderate, why should they have to get involved in a clear cut rule break that needs negative feedback left to A. Warn everyone else about the methods of sending the seller uses and B. So he (the seller) makes sure he does the right thing in the end..... At the end of the day if the seller followed rules that are plastered everywhere then there wouldnt be an issue! Not to mention the fact that he quoted on sending it properly then to save $1 he didn't do things right.....!

Ok guys , i am now going to say my piece.... Look i was the seller in this case , but by no means did i ever try and rip anyone off or did i think that this item was not well packed!!!!.... I can tell you all that i would be one of the most respected sellers from around Australia on Ebay and other forums with all 100% positive feedback.... Almost every buyer that buys from me says that they wish that there were more sellers like me that take pride and care in the way in which i ship out my items.... I really thought that i was doing the right thing here by sending these cards in the way i did????.... Everyone on this site is asking for blood and i really thought that i did no wrong???? So people on this forum should know the truth about this deal as by no means was it "Badly" packed.... I first of all pulled out these mint perfect cards out from there plastic sleeves and then placed them all carefully in separate hard plastic covers.... I then tapped these together so that everything was safe and sound.... I then use this method of cutting up 2 x 5mm thick cardboard in the same shape and size as a full envelope placing the hard covers with the cards inside these between the cardboard , both sides.... Then i use around 1/4 of a roll of packing tape around the whole parcel making it very strong and sturdy in which the cards inside are 100% protected from any outside damaged until they are opened up from one end.... I also understand the process about a padded mailer bag but i personally think this way is by far the best way in which no cards can get damaged in the post , but i guess that i am wrong!!!!.... Anyway dont judge me on this one transaction by saying that i wanted to save $1AU dollar in shipping costs by doing it my way or that i do not care , which is BS.... I do care as i am a collector myself and i also would be very upset if my item was delivered to me damaged.... But this was not damaged or was it badly packed.... From now on i will know not to send these cards in which the way i thought was best as they say communication is the key between sellers and buyers....Thanks for your time guys and i hope that you all see the both sides of this deal.... Steve.... PS I know that the rules are there for a reason but i really did not think that this was a bad way in sending an item....

It sounds like you packed them well in between the cardboard, but they should THEN be placed inside a bubble envelope. From what I'm reading you just chucked the cards inside the cardboard in the post...... that boggles my mind TBH.

The sending rules are in place for a reason Steve. You may have packed it safe in your opinion however your not taking into account how Australia Post handles and processes items. The mods have actually taken the time to research these issues which is why the rules are what they are.

Hi Steven,

You have got my backing here. I know there have been some harsh comments said here, but I hope they have not deterred you from coming back on. Ozcardtrader site is definitely the best hobby site in Australia (& probably the world). There are many collectors with different personalities and background here but we all have one common goal is that we love this hobby and would like to have a forum that is fun and safe. Occasionally, we do get new members who more than eager to conduct a trade and transaction here who may not have followed the site rules/ regulations entirely. In such instance, the senior members may need to educate the newer members (some may want your blood but just ignore those). All I can say is that any new member is welcome here including you and that we sincerely want this site to be your hobby home. Cheers Alex.

ok guys i totally understand.... Like i have said i am a collector as well and i also know that i want my items sent to me in a proper manner.... But saying this does not mean that i would start up a thread about how poorly i have sent these cards!!!!.... I have received items in the past from a number of sellers from around Australia and the world and as long as i received my item safe and sound i would never say to the seller by sending him or her an email saying that he had ripped me off by $3AU shipping costs or that the parcel was send in a crappy way.... My way of sending these cards i thought was the right way to do it and safe , but i also understand that some people are not happy!!!!....Also Anakinleo thanks for the kind words as i really like this site as i have meet some great new friends in which i can talk to about certain things i am interested in....

Having such a good rep on other sites doesn't count for anything in a situation like this. There are site rules, you MUST follow them. There are no exceptions. An envelope cost $1 from the PO or cheaper from office works. If you can't get your hands on a new one, recycle an old one. Better than using none at all. Hopefully you get the feedback that is deserved, you learn from it and don't do it again.

Hi Mr Iverson , just for the record i "DID NOT JUST CHUCK THEM IN BETWEEN 2 PIECES OF CARDBOARD".... Are you for real????.... Did you read in what i had said in my last post????.... The only thing different i did to other collectors on this forum was that i used thicker , strong cardboard to put around the hard plastic covers .... I then very neatly wrapped shipping tape around and around all the corners of the cardboard making it very strong in which it is 5 times harder to bend than any mailer bag.... Look i have done what i have done , and i cannot change this now but i really think this is getting way out of hand as only the buyer has seen the end result and like he said , all the cards he received were in perfect mint condition on arrival.... Think what you like but i am no means a bad seller and i can asure you one thing , any cards brought from me will arrive 100% mint perfect....
