well I case manage about 500 people, and Id say only about 5% are "unemployable" due to circumstances beyond their control.
the rest are seriously lazy arsed...they get it real good...400 bucks a fortnight for doing shit all, concessions, health care cards, rent assistance, housing commission, baby bonuses...
if you really dont have any self respect or aspirations to achieve, then why not?...so its my job to kick em in the arse!
As a person on benefits, I realise how fortunate I am to be actually receiving some benefits.
However, you do realise the poverty line is like under $300/week, which is 150% more than what you receive from benefits???
Especially with spiralling costs of basics (like food, shelter) and conveniences (motor vehicle). I take exception to those middle class toff's who earn over $50k pa, and still receive benefits, and get the biggest tax breaks (although technically a different argument to benefits received), whilst the majority of blue-collar class get shafted.
yellows...I work for a private organisation that has tendered for business from the aust govt. There is a mix of private and welfare groups that are apart of the "Job Network"
do they stay in jobs? hell no! we call them every week while they are working to make sure they are doing the right thing. all sorts of excuses come out when you ring them and find out they arent at work anymore...
over the past 6 months Ive placed about 300 people into jobs. I got 60 13 week outcomes...so not a great retainment % but its the avg...though some of those 300 "placements" might have been the same person after they fell out of a job.
I work for a company called AGFA (yes the photo company) but I work in their Healthcare division. I've been with them since 2001, where I worked in Melbourne/Nunawading until they moved me here to Perth Sept 11th 2003.. Been here ever since, seeing I'm a Melbournian I can't say I want to move back.. I love it here. Anyways, what I do with AGFA is pretty much I.T and Installation of CR equipment for Hospitals.. Field Service Engineer is my title.
Sorry had to remove the pic guys, I can't leave up there for too long as I am not supposed to advertise where I work. Hopefully enough of you saw it and have an idea now anyways
