Tmac a Spur?

Tracy McGrady 13 Points In 35 Seconds

Would be more ironic if they play the Rockets in the first round.

Good for him. I hope he can be with them next season as well.

PS: The players looked a lot younger here specially Manu. :)

I like this pick up for the Spurs and at least T-Mac is coming in with some kind of form averaging 25pts and 7 rebs in China.

I hope he can give the Spurs something and maybe he'll finally get out of the 1st round of the playoffs right??? Gee I hope so. Ha.

Good chance for Tmac to get pass of the first round.

Was Jacko injured, because they let him go. Would have contributed well for a playoff team, only because of when Spurs let him go he's not eligible...

T-Mac's been averaging well in China this year, somewhere around the 20-5-5 mark. I understand that's China, but it's still a legit comp.

1st round exit for the Spurs!! :p

seriously though, i was going for either Memphis or the Nuggets, but now, think i might have to go for the Spurs this offseason

They let go Jackson coz he's probably causing some problem in the locker room...
The San Antonio Spurs have abruptly waived veteran forward Stephen Jackson in a move coach Gregg Popovich described Friday as "best for our group."

Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com the Spurs came to the conclusion this week that it was best to release Jackson -- even at this unusually late date -- to try to "move forward" with the players who will be in Popovich's playoff rotation.

Popovich told local reporters Friday night before San Antonio's home game against Sacramento that it was a "tough decision because, on a personal basis, I've known (Jackson) a long time and I enjoy him very much."
"But you've got to make decisions that are tough sometimes," Popovich said, describing it as both "a basketball decision and a family decision."
Jackson had largely fallen out of San Antonio's main rotation and thus had team officials privately concerned that the 13-year veteran's "strong personality," as one source put it, would create extra locker-room tension that the Spurs don't need at a time they're already concerned about the health of stars Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili heading into the playoffs.
NBA rules stipulate that any player released after March 1 is not eligible to appear in the playoffs with another team, meaning that Jackson's season is effectively over.

He could sign with a new team after clearing waivers next week but would not be allowed to appear in the postseason with a new club.
Jackson was a member of San Antonio's title team in 2003 and was reacquired in March 2012 in a deadline-day trade with Milwaukee. He averaged 6.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 19.5 minutes in 55 games this season.

Jack apparently had turned to the dark side and was becoming a negative influence on the bench, not happy with his role etc, bit of a shame because I realyl like his game and big shot ability. Could have been very useful in the playoffs.

I think T-Mac was averaging more around the 25/7/5 mark I think.

If he can knock down a few open shots it will help the Spurs MASSIVELY.

But his team finished dead last in the league. It wasn't even close.
Can't imagine any other former NBA star allowing that to happen!

LOL, I didnt know about the standings on where his team finished. A bit like Abblett playing for Gold Coast... ha ha.

Doesnt surprise me with him causing a stir among the boys in the lockers/on the bench. He's always (like Mad Ronnie) had that short fuse. Still, I think it's a good pickup for the Spurs. I actually wondered why the Mavs didnt look to do it earlier in the season when they were going through all those 10-day contracts with people who'd play 2mins total during those 10 days.

Maybe because Carter is with the Mavs and it will be just a duplication of their roster spot.

I don't think it's the same thing.

T-Mac has not played well in the NBA for years.

That would be like giving Penny Hardaway a hard time for his team being on the bottom of the Chinese League.

Not the same players.

T-Mac could also be playing with the worst players in the League? He seems to be getting his ok.

I'm just hoping to see him get a few mins with the mighty Spurs AND produce a little.

Never been massive on T-Mac but the guy could flat out go in his day.

Everyone loves a comeback.

I think it's cool to see him back simply for nostalgia, even tho he played last year, but to be honest who really noticed him after he left houston?

i say good on him for coming back into the NBA , never followed t mac but good to see him back=D>

meh, he's an amazing player don't get me wrong ... actually .. get me wrong, he WAS an amazing player but I really don't see him making a huge difference if he plays like he did in atlanta, new york and detroit (oh god .. just realized how many jerseys he's had on since Orlando). I'd much rather have Stephen Jackson back on the Spurs but I guess we gotta wait and see, good luck to him though, he's always been one of my favorite players.
