Something to consider in that context is that Select are a specialist trading card company, they even sell they’re own top loaders etc now.I don't know anything about TLA but the fact that they didn't have a checklist up on their website surprised me to say the least. It's nothing like Select's website which is pretty slick.
TLA or ESP as they were when they took on the license are a talent management company. The thought was that they only grabbed the license so they could have more contact with Elite NRL players, no doubt to try and bring them under their management.
TLA have actually done some pretty good things with cards and I think that many of their current issues could be rectified if they added another full time staff member to the trading card section, preferably a collector or someone heavily involved in that industry.
