TLA Traders 2021 Official Thread

Haven't bought Rugby League cards since 94. I would like to buy a box Thursday. Pretty impressed that actual on card autos can be had. Can anyone tell me the rough odds of hitting those? The on card version not the facsimile. Cheers.

1:432 (case) for white
1:864 for black
1:1728 for Legends

Unless you are just busting for the fun and hope to hit, it is much cheaper to grab the auto you want (pending availability) from the secondary market. Unfortunately the condition of some signature cards this year has been bad with damage to the cards and signatures.

The "black" autograph cards are 1 in 24 boxes.

Yes just busting for fun and no particular auto in mind. It would be awesome to hit a Legends signature, though.

The lack of activity on here really highlights the downfall in the fun that we should all be enjoying in this. I was talking with my brother tonight about the difference between 1993 and 1994, Regina to Select when it changed from just team sets to trying to find the magic cards(sigs). My daughter, who's 3.5, loves the enjoyment of filling her folder with every player imaginable and it reminds me that we've lost touch with what's this was about, finding and supporting our favourite teams/players, taking pride in our allegiances and never ever chasing the $$. I hope that someday soon we can go back to what this means for so many of us

It’s wishful thinking, but with TLA in charge there’s really no chance of salvaging the Traders. Our only hope would be for there to be a change of leadership at TLA or the set to be passed on to another company.

An Idea for a card design that I've always had is in some way like a 4 and 2 but its much easier to get its like a box hit. The set should be called Dynamic Duo and each card will like 2 players from a certain team, one being a forward and one being a back who work really well together. Like for Souths it could be Cody Walker and Cam Murray. In terms of the card design I have a few ideas in my head which I could try and make. It is just a insert type I have always thought would be cool.

m surprised at the lack of quality players signing in NRL Traders. I tried looking for a checklist but the TLA website only has the 2020 one up. Just looking at ebay it's only legends sigs that you'd be interested in hitting outside your own team. Do the Tedesco level players have sigs in another product?

Yep, Elite generally has better quality players on signature cards. The issue is TLA average 40 + signatures per year (some years over 60) so eventually the quality will thin.

Teddy for example has already signed three times, twice as a Tiger (13 Traders Young Gun and 14 Elite Young Gun) and then 18 Elite for the Roosters as a League Sensation which also has a black variant.

I don't know anything about TLA but the fact that they didn't have a checklist up on their website surprised me to say the least. It's nothing like Select's website which is pretty slick.
