TLA NRL Power Play Extreme 2017 (Official Thread)

If production run is the same as Traders it should be approximately 1 per 6 boxes i think

I couldn`t see it being the same production run as the traders when there are only 167 cases ( 2004 boxes )for the dealers in EXTREME compared to 650 cases for the dealers in the traders ....

I think ESP said they limited boxes in the hands of dealers so that more packs would be available in stores to make it more "accessible." At least that's how I read it

With 6462 boxes of Extreme it will be more like 1 sig in 2 boxes or maybe even better in the dealer cases ....

Might pick up a few starter packs, try and get a complete souths insert set then use the wrappers to swap for an Inglis signature. apart from that i don't think i'll buy much power play

Cards on table
There is some serious infighting going on between player management groups relating to Xtreme football cards that are being signed and endorsed by players.

One management group, IJM (Issaa, Joseph, Moses) Management, got the rights to assist in procuring players to do the cards. In previous years the rights to assist in the cards rested with management company SFX, who performed their role respectfully to players and their agents alike.

The reason the rights transferred from SFX to IJM was because Isaac Moses complained to Bart Campbell, the chairman of the Storm, and the chairman of TLA, the company that controls the rights to the cards.

When SFX ran the show they would contact the management groups that had players who were required for specialised cards.

The players would then be paid to sign cards. The issue arose because IJM, through IJM employee David Prentice started approaching players, directly in some cases, and the players were not offered the amount they were entitled to.

Players are to receive $5 a card they sign. In this case, players from other management groups were offered considerably less.

And when their agents found out the proverbial hit the fan.

The issue is that the players who were approached directly for the special signed editions of the cards were offered much less than the agreed amount.

As one agent said: "No consent form or paperwork was forthcoming until I demanded to have all the details in writing. I had concerns as to how this was being conducted, initially with Dave Prentice contacting, or trying to, contact players directly and not going through the manager."

After considerable blow-ups, the players were given what they are entitled to. The rival agents think that there was an upside for the IJM group – one of the players needed for the cards was Josh Hodgson, and he didn't have an agent. He does now – IJM group.

The Raiders are not happy with his choice

One of the issues I have always seen is that a Talent Management Company TLA/ESP are often needing to deal with players from other management companies.

If I were a player manager, would I want one of my guys dealing with another agency?

Interesting indeed!

This is 1 off the main reasons Big Mal does not sign any official cards after the debacle with Dynamic not paying him for signing his cards back in 1994.

If you pay peanuts you will get monkeys, it is as simple as that.
Look at the present cutting of penalty rates, they really want to ruin this great country.
My personal opinion is if you want to work on weekends you should be paid to do so appropriately.
I f I went out on sunday and had breakfast and a coffee, I would rather pay an extra $10 for my meal and coffee just so people got paid the right amount, after all it is my choice to go out on that day and relax.
