Hopefully, somehow, we can come up with an upset in the next round =D>
 
we have a better for/against then Croatia so we finish 3rd at least. if Russia beat Argentina then i think we can finish 2nd.

loved the Litho who roosted the ball into the stands!! They were full strength, we just played like stars and couldn't miss. Great to watch!

I agree with you but apparently we're through to the next round, to verse USA, I don't know how it works but apparently that's the go!

Shame, we should have beaten Croatia, that was a "gimme", then we'd be 4-1 and have a shot at versing an easier opponent!

I really want the Aussies to play the USA next game - if we play like we did today the Americans strategy of 1 pass, then try and take em off the dribble will look ridiculous.

Just the idea of some of our guys matching up against the NBA guys is drool worthy to say the least!!

Doubt it mate.

The US is the best defensive team right now I think they proved that by beating Spain by 37 points.

They would just kill us on D and then destroy us in transition.

See the way Ricky Rubio (known as the best international undrafted young player in the world and next season's #1 draft pick) was destroyed by Chris Paul and Gasol, Fernandez, Calderon and Juan Navarro had no answer offensively or defensively for Lebron and Carmelo.

I'm no hater of Aus basketball don't get me wrong I love the team and I worship Brad Newley, Joe Ingles, Patty Mills and David Andersen, haha but let's be serious!

Not saying if we play at our best it wouldn't be close, but beating them is a long shot..
 
I thought if we finished 4th in our group we would face USA as it stands we should finish 3rd maybe even second which would mean Spain? or???? But yeah Fk knows how it works.

well we actually are 3rd but tied #3 with Croatia.

for some reason they rank higher on the table than us though??!

Im under no illusions - the US team is a beast........ I just think they arent playing as well as people expected. I just wanna see our guys matched up against them - would be so sweet!! :)

I'm with you ryawil0, bring on those seppos!

Hopefully we can shoot like we did against Lithuania, the Seppos have a real bad shooting day, and Pattys speed can break that trapping defence that they run. I love USA vs Australia in bball...love the underdog not backing down to the big dog! Go the boomers!

If Channel 7 shows it live, and thats a huge if, it will be on at 10pm Sydney time tomorrow.

Also, SBS will be showing live the Spain vs Croatia game at 4:30pm Sydney time tomorrow, and at 7:30pm SBS will show part of the Lithuania vs China game.

Hopefully channel 7 can come through with the goods for us, as that looks like a decent day of basketball viewing.

Too bad we probably wont get to see the Argentina vs Greece game, as that is probably the most likely game to be close.
 
don't get your hopes up with channel 7.........they have done a terrible job covering the Olympics and have made so many people angry. They better show all of this game against the USA. They showed 95% of the USA vs Australia game in the last Olympics so they better do it again.

honestly......they should show all the medal rounds on sbs...they show more....instead of cutting away to something no one wants to watch
