The Official 2012-13 EPL Thread

Do u have to ask every time? Most times refs give what they see. No doubt Bale was trying to win one...

Huth's stamp reminds me of Balotelli's - he basically left his foot there as an nasty afterthought.

you dont have to ask, but its pretty rare when no-one does. and no spur said anything on the bale one.
i think he thought there would be contact, so he starts to fall in the position he would if there was contact. but it dont come, and hes committed, so its to late to stop. thats why i think he never appeals. if he was looking for a freekick, he wouldve asked for one? could be the reason why he wasnt booked or talked to aswell? that play ends with a villa throw in, so the ref knows theres no foul.
or am i being far too lenient, and it was just a plain dive?
the suarez one is more blatant in my opinion.
thats why i thought of the fowler incident. difference was he got up and admitted there was no contact. but he still jumped over seaman and made it look like a foul. and the penalty still stood.

You're making exzcuses for Bale. If he was an honest player he'd keen making his runwith the ball... it was pathetic... perhaps Aguero has something saying the Brits get away with the diving? Bale, Young, Wellbeck recently...hell even Micah Richards goes to ground too easy for a bloke built like a tank...

/\/\ fair enough. i guess i stuck up for him because of the aftermath of the dive. at least he just got on with it. unlike suarez (for example), who whenever he dives gets up and makes a big show. but in the end, youre right. it was a weak move.
sometimes its easy to forget what pace and strength these guys have tho, and what may look like going down easy, is just physics and anyone would fall the same...not talking about the bale incident.
thats the biggest thing i took away with me from going to watch live matches. TV does absolutely no justice to the speed these guys are going at.
heres the fowler incident. not exactly the way i remember it from 20 years ago:

No Ashley cole ban. The fa accepted his apology and moved on. If there's one thing I love about cole it's he always gives 100% when he puts the 3 lions shirt on

I can't think of one thing I like about Ashley Cole...he seems to dodge punishments like the people were dodging when he was shooting that air rifle without getting charged somehow...

I nearly swerved off the road when I heard that... ;)
Ca$hley was an Invincible and won a handful of trophy's with Arsenal, no doubt a great player. No class though.

I'm sorry but that is hilarious!!! Some twitter asshat costs his club hundreds of thousands of $$$ just cos he's good at pretending to be 'in the know' about transfer deals!!

On the positive front - sound like a massive inquiry into police behaviour after the Hillsborough tragedy looking into what chargres can be brought against them... That's an excellent result and officers like Paul Middup, Duckenfield will be shaking in their boots...

Silva out for 2 games...just as he was getting going... tough away game at West Brom for City... Stoke away at Utd....

After this weekends games I ask - is the EPL a 3 horse race already? Chelsea look terrific going forward and u can't argue they haven't played anyone, Arsenal and Spurs away both beaten. United 2nd on GD, also scoring plenty of goals but letting a few in too.. City winning and drawing, had some tough away games at Liverpool, Stoke, WBA (who were in form), are starting to hit their straps a bit... the win at West Brom was awesome - 70 minutes with 10 men and thoroughly deserved the win, even if it came late... how Danny Mills can say we didn't deserve it - what a knuckle head....

Spurs and the Arse struggling a bit.

Arsenal were terrible. I'm used to us dropping a surprise game here and there, but it was the worst we'd looked for years. Hopefully just a one off.
