Less than $100 a night for the 2 of us, and Danni didnt mind... that's the main thing!

Sure it was tiny, but since we were playing tourists, we were out all day.

I'll bring my 94-95 commons, and see what I can trade.

Hey Chadley im in for it mate, maybe we should get a group of us (Melbournians) together on a day and plan it in person? then we can hand out diffferent little choirs for each of us to do and stuff like that to help the interstaters out, cos i would love to meet a whole bunch of these falla's!!

I LOVE IT! I haven't been on the site as long as you guys (only about a year now), and have gone off a bit this year with uni, but I'm definitely up for an Ozcard get together to buy/trade/etc. Give the PC a big boost for sure. Just keep us all posted with details and I'm there!

sounds very cool, and ive been wanting to meet some of you mugs in person for ages now.

my sister lives and works in melbourne now too so accomodation is no problem, the problem is finding the time off to do it. im 50/50 at this early stage, early/mid jan should be alright i think.

Just make sure you have the coopers on ice when i get there, none of this inferior brew!

The last time we were in Melbourne we stayed at this place called the Shoan Heights Apartments on Little Bourke St I think, near Chinatown and just around from the Hard Rock Cafe. It was cool, but anything with free breakfast and shower caps is tops with me

I really hope this comes together.

Great idea Chad! Just a suggestion though - January might not be the best time. Its high season for the hotels and the interstaters will have to pay a bit more for accom.

i should be in chad, definantly interested at least.

even if it gets difficult for the out of staters, us melbourne people should at least get together somehow to have a chat

EDIT: only problem i have with the 'silly' prizes thing is that i havent done anything stupid compared to you guys

What a terrific idea, good on you for taking responsibility chad

I think it is better to do it as soon as possible, cause you can never make a date that satisfies everyone. Once you start it can become a bi or quarterly event so at least everyone can participate at some stage in the year.

Possibly a good idea is to have it around the Melbourne Cup event, either on that weekend on Oaks day or around the Cup day itself. I think there's a show on the 5th Nov, so as hill33 mentioned it's a good idea to mix it in with that. I know some of the VICS get mon/tues off too.

I know its only 4 weeks away, but with all your skills and contacts chad it should be a piece of cake, right? :smt041

Well there is no way I could get everything done in four weeks. That would count out any Tigers players too as they play the Bullets that week and I'd have to be at the game as well.

Im sure in four months we could organise something so the maximum amount of people can attend the event.

I'd be happy just to organise a trade day on the Sunday for all to buy/sell and swap cards etc.

yeh i remember never being able to go to the cup (or the bendigo cup) coz of uni exams, and i always seemed to get an exam on cup day, during the race, very annoying

Accomodation isn't a problem for me, and there is a really cheap apartment place on Lonsdale called Unicity apartments which is pretty decent.

Also I think it would be good at the same time to organise a bit of a ball game while everyones together, what do y'all think?
