Looks like the WACA will save money on electricity tonight!
I fail to see the point of playing Glenn Maxwell if he is going to bat at number 8 in an ODI team. He comes in on a hiding to nothing - expected to swing hard and swing often with five overs to go, or dig in and play an unnatural game if we collapse.
In more encouraging news, Meg Lanning (135* off 127) and Ellyse Perry (64* off 110) took Australia to a 3-0 series win in the ODI series against West Indies today, adding 204 for the third wicket in an eight-wicket win!
A good day for batsmen in the Sheffield Shield today:
WA 4/231 (Klinger 100, Bancroft 61) vs TAS at Hobart
SA 4/304 (Ferguson 137*, Ludeman 98*) vs VIC at Adelaide
QLD 3/326 (Burns 183, Forrest 87*) vs NSW at Brisbane
**Some sad news to finish - Former Australian captain Ian Craig has passed away. He is the youngest player to play for his state (NSW) at age 16 and for Australia at age 17. Whenever I saw Ian Craig interviewed he came across as a humble, polite man. RIP Ian David Craig 1935-2014.
