The Australian cricket non-official thread!

Looks like Australia aren't the only team who struggle in spinning conditions with New Zealand looking down the barrel.
Pakistan need 7 wickets to win with over a day to bowl at them

Rohit Sharma 264 In an ODI!

First man to get two double hundreds in odi's and highest ever score by an individual.

That was unbelievable. Sri Lanka were smashed all over the park.

Looking forward to the World Cup.....

There's a old saying "catches win matches"Sharman dropped on FOUR,a real dolly of a catch

What a joke.

Mitch Starc rested from the shield game v Queensland "under advice from cricket Australia he is being rested for his well being"

Here's an idea, why not get a few four day games under his belt to push for selection for the first test in Brisbane. Half the team are playing one day cricket and will get one shield game (if cricket Australia lets them play) before the first test!

Thought this rotation rubbish was thrown out when boof took over as coach.....

Its bonkers! Train all winter to be rested all summer.

Looks like the WACA will save money on electricity tonight!

I fail to see the point of playing Glenn Maxwell if he is going to bat at number 8 in an ODI team. He comes in on a hiding to nothing - expected to swing hard and swing often with five overs to go, or dig in and play an unnatural game if we collapse.

In more encouraging news, Meg Lanning (135* off 127) and Ellyse Perry (64* off 110) took Australia to a 3-0 series win in the ODI series against West Indies today, adding 204 for the third wicket in an eight-wicket win! :-)

A good day for batsmen in the Sheffield Shield today:

WA 4/231 (Klinger 100, Bancroft 61) vs TAS at Hobart
SA 4/304 (Ferguson 137*, Ludeman 98*) vs VIC at Adelaide
QLD 3/326 (Burns 183, Forrest 87*) vs NSW at Brisbane

**Some sad news to finish - Former Australian captain Ian Craig has passed away. He is the youngest player to play for his state (NSW) at age 16 and for Australia at age 17. Whenever I saw Ian Craig interviewed he came across as a humble, polite man. RIP Ian David Craig 1935-2014.

Thank goodness - Mitchell Johnson has been rested for the remainder of the ODI series against South Africa. I was hoping the same would happen with David Warner. With Michael Clarke likely to miss the upcoming Test series and Brad Haddin returning from injury (he will be named captain if fit) as it is, the loss of Johnson and Warner would leave a gaping hole in the Australian line-up so I'd be inclined to rest them both...particularly with the World Cup not far away.

Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Xaviery Doherty have been drafted into the ODI squad, while Mitchell Marsh will play in the Canberra ODI then be released to play in WA's last Shield game before the Gabba Test.

Peter Siddle and Ryan Harris bashing the door down in a bid for selection in the first Test!!

Siddle has 2/54 & currently 4/16 in the second innings vs SA in Adelaide (after first innings team scores of 8/431 decl. and 7/607 decl.)

Harris has 3/59 & currently 3/17 in the second innings vs NSW at Brisbane.

Great to see the workhorses with a bit of buck in 'em :-)
