Thats pathetic, if the ppl buying the product pay for the return postage then all it will cost them is a few man hours and a few pieces of cardboard!!! Minimal cost!!

yeah thats a cop out from Select. sounds like they have put GU cards in the too hard basket lazy *****s
not doing it for the collectors, doing it for themselves! surely all they need to do is see how bad the previous two series' sold and read collectors comments for a new series and there they have it, we do all the hard work, all they need to do if make them and see the profits roll in. after all we are the ones buying their product so we should be happy with what they produce. lets see how the next series sells if they dont listen to us collectors. we have stayed faithful to select so far during the last 2 years but how long i ask will people keep putting up with crap.
if this next series comes out and they have made no attempt to produce what we want thats it for me, and with Futera's plans for a future release i will confidently leave the Select cricket completely out of my want list.
It still sh!ts me that they put all of their time, effort, design and expertise into TWO AFL sets each year (minimum) yet they cannot deliver ONE decent cricket set!!!
There are 700 players in the AFL, if intellectual property is so costly then they would never be able to produce a set at all!!
How then can Futera UK deliver an international set, yet Select cry wolf any time we ask for a bit of quality in our cricket cards!!
I just don't get it and am more disillusioned about Select now than ever. They seriously need to talk to Upper Deck and the NBA to understand how to produce a quality product and how to negotiate the issue of intellectual property and copyright.
"Lets produce a product for the small niche hobby market in Australia...and give them something completely different to what they want!!"- Select, 2009.
And to think the basketball collectors are getting annoyed with Upper Deck for producing too many GU's and 1/1's!! How ironic.
Select seem to be avoiding any production of a high-end insert card or a quality product. They seem ignorant to the fact that Futera's Elite set retailed at $6.95 per pack way back in 1996 - and sold out!!
To the bigwigs at Select - not all card collectors in Australia are in primary school. There are many of us who will happily buy the product in search of the highest of high-end cards. You even produced them yourself in 97/98 and 98/99!! Check your files and sales figures!!

hmmm. Annoyed. This is fairly shocking. If we have the same old ****e this season. I will message as many collectors as possible and get them to fire a message off saying how **** the series is. Thats if it will be shiz!
AFL boxes from past years have held their value - many have gone up significantly - due to the quality of the product. Not one cricket card box has held its value at all since Select's awesome 1998/99 release - which, incidentally, was because there was a high-end hobby version offered along with the retail version! Hell, even the retail version had a Bradman signature card!! Surely that has to tell them something.
Why on earth would anyone in the years ahead want to get a box of Select 08/09 cricket cards? I'm not sure there is a post-2000 box that sells for much more than $50?
they should have 2 signatures in the box. a state player and an Aussie player. i love my cricket but dont collect them lately, because there is just too many inserts to chase down. they need to have less inserts but better. even if they have to put the price up. Aus needs cricket cards!
I am new and don't want to sound rude, but Select don't care!
Suggestion to Select = Stop making cricket cards, you do no justice to cricket card collectors.
I am over the moon with hearing futera releasing cricket cards next year. In one of their emails they suggested cards would be released early next year, wonder if they will do a World cup series for 2011?
I have just sold all my modern select cricket cards and won't be buying any more!
i am keeping the 98/99 hobby series as it is a quality edition, not like the last 2 loads of crap!
