Once upon a time in the kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for six days. Eventually, Michael the archangel found him on the seventh day resting. He enquired of God, “where have you been?” God pointed downwards through the clouds.

“Look Michael, look what I've made,” said God. Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, “what is it?” “It's a planet,” replied God, “and I've put life on it. I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance.”

“Balance?” inquired Michael, still confused. God explained, pointing down to different parts of the earth, “For example North America will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while South America is going to be poor; the Middle East over there will be a hot spot and Russia will be a cold spot.”

“Over there I've placed a continent of white people and here I've placed a continent of black people.” God continued pointing to different countries: “This one will be extremely hot and arid and this one will be very cold and covered in ice.”

The archangel, impressed by Gods work, then pointed to another area and asked, “What's that?” “Ah”, said God. “That's NSW the most glorious place on earth. There are beautiful people, they have the greatest capital city in the world; it is the home of the world's finest artists, musicians, writers, thinkers, explorers and sportsmen. They are the envy of mankind the world over.

The people from NSW are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they're going to be found travelling the world. They'll be extremely sociable, hard working and high achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as speakers of truth.”

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed, “What about Balance, God - you said there will be BALANCE!” God pointed his finger towards an area in Northern Australia and replied, “Just wait until you see all the w***ers I'm putting in Queensland!"

all i have to say, looking forward to The Battle.....and this:

What your putting on before the game is not just any jersey. It’s the jersey that has carried, yes carried, the spirit of queenslanders. Those that have gone before you and those that have watched those herculean endeavors. I grew up not knowing what it was to win a state battle. Yet my father always celebrated Qld. If you win this next match you earn’t the win. You won’t lose, you see, when you march up in defense, it will be as if a ships chain is holding the team line, time and time again. That is QLD spirit. In attack you will succeed. It is your team spirit. And when your on the ground, tank seemingly empty, you will look into the stands and the courage of 50,000 queenslanders will help you to the next tackle. Tackle you will, because within you is the same Spirit as those watching and those that played and watched before you. That is Qld state spirit. It will prevail, so hold your heads high as for many a year you have been building the foundation for this one game.
