All names sound strange the first you hear 'em. What, you telling me people loved the name Blanche the first time they heard it? A name change is a good idea, although the logo will be a big bird with dead fish in its mouth.

There was a minor league baseball team with that name, so it is a bird associated with the area and the state.

Yeah the pelican is like the states emblem or something. Still not sold on it though. I hear there colour scheme could be navy blue, red and gold.

If it means Charlotte can have their Hornets back I'd be all for it but the new Charlotte Hornets would have to have differnet colours though surely? Being an entirely different franchise they couldn't use the previous/Charlotte/NO Hornets colours surely?
