I'd pay 500 for Ablett snr, Ablett jnr and some other Geelong great.
Select needs to aim these kind of releases at player collectors or team collectors. This doesn't satisfy either unless you are a player collector and wan't to fork out $500 for an auto which has 2 others on it you don't really care about
I agree with most here in thinking there would be more than 1 card, I'll most likely wait and save to buy it on the second hand market assuming that they all sell b4 xmas
I wouldn't be worried, just confirms that he signed it a few years ago to me. He'd sign hundreds/thousands of autographs, including cards. If he doesn't remember signing 50 odd of a particular card a few years back, at the same time as he was signing captain sigs, it's understandable.
True i dont get why select would hold onto it though and why theyd put them players together could have done a triple sig each club a past, present & future eg. Pies past tony shaw, present, dane swan future brody grundy
Past, present and future is bang on the money mate. I seriously dont understand how select come up with such uninspired ideas! I meen the three players are just randomly thrown together.
And following your idea gc/ gws would have a liittle bit of trouble but could have changed it up with:
Gc - mckenna, ablett and omeara
Gws - SHeedy, Ward and cameron

Well regardless of whether or not you think the card is worth the price or even like it for that matter, it seems pretty obvious the card was signed in 2009 when they made the captain sigs.
I'm happy to be proven wrong but
A) all 3 signed at the time
B) Brown is wearing a jumper worn by the Lions at the time
C) Lloyd can't confirm signing these recently.
D) Select have not specified when this card was produced
This concerns me as i wonder what else they are keeping for "exclusive releases".
The Scanlens cards i could appreciate and respect not being inserted into packs. They have no bearing on the Select brand but as a side alone set i appreciated the nostalgia of current players on yesteryear designs.
The Team of the Century cards that clubs put out i think are a great idea as Select could not afford to individually produce that amount of cards for each club and be profitable. For clubs prepared to take the gamble as well it makes sense.
Even the legend set they released last year will Skilton and co i could appreciate not putting into packs as they are past players and the checklist of signatures would be too expensive with everything else included to have in a series 2. I doubt they would have sold well if they were a stand alone pack product IMO.
This tri card however has no real reason to exist.
What is it celebrating?
What is it's relevance?
Is it marked 2009 or 2013 on the back?
Is it a one off or will we next year get part 2!!!
Quad Star Signature
Mitchell, Pavlich, Harvey and Riewoldt to come NEXT SUMMER!!!!
