Well regardless of whether or not you think the card is worth the price or even like it for that matter, it seems pretty obvious the card was signed in 2009 when they made the captain sigs.
I'm happy to be proven wrong but
A) all 3 signed at the time
B) Brown is wearing a jumper worn by the Lions at the time
C) Lloyd can't confirm signing these recently.
D) Select have not specified when this card was produced
This concerns me as i wonder what else they are keeping for "exclusive releases".
The Scanlens cards i could appreciate and respect not being inserted into packs. They have no bearing on the Select brand but as a side alone set i appreciated the nostalgia of current players on yesteryear designs.
The Team of the Century cards that clubs put out i think are a great idea as Select could not afford to individually produce that amount of cards for each club and be profitable. For clubs prepared to take the gamble as well it makes sense.
Even the legend set they released last year will Skilton and co i could appreciate not putting into packs as they are past players and the checklist of signatures would be too expensive with everything else included to have in a series 2. I doubt they would have sold well if they were a stand alone pack product IMO.
This tri card however has no real reason to exist.
What is it celebrating?
What is it's relevance?
Is it marked 2009 or 2013 on the back?
Is it a one off or will we next year get part 2!!!
Quad Star Signature
