Select 2012

Strike were way better then the first series. Alot of the players said the photos of them were old ones.

Also one card shop guy told me that the design of the strike cards were the same as a old NFL series of cards.

I reckon as long as i don't get rubber bands, the correct amount per pack and some inserts this time i will be happy.

This thread is pointless. Champions will be the exact same crap as it has been since 2007.
After much anticipation and dreaming, Series 2 will also be a huge disappointment.
Select are killing the hobby. Thats why so many long term collectors are looking to concentrate more on some of their other collections.
To noobs its all fresh and exciting and thats what probably keeps Select in business.

Burt's a quality player and has been a great servant for the Eels ... why wouldn't he get a case card?

I'm still gutted Steve Simpson never got one. Especially since I was lucky enough to be at his 200th game!!!

why not bring out 300 game case cards ? didnt the AFL get these?

200 games to get a case card. Gallen has 200 games to his name (wikipedia) so should be a case card this year. Luke Burt has 244 games to his name. Not bad for a nobody. I think he deserves a case card. Plus he's never been caught having a pee in the street.

got caught with his pants down in the final minute against penrith last year though, lol

but back on topic, maybe matt cooper could get a case card this year, very surprising but i dont think a dragon has features on a 200 game card

Getting back on topic i blame Steve Wang as much as Select for the Champions crap we get. As the sole distributer he is the one passing back all tge feedback on whats selling. Its why there is no cricket cards anymore from select.

im so bored with it i have started collecting mlb and nfl. For the same price as a team of the year card i can get a gameused bat or glove or uniform card. Sad really...

Not enough NRL players make it to 300.

Yeah exactly, he's been a great guy and a good rolemodel. Just coz he hasn't played 20 origins doesn't mean he hasn't done a good job and doesn't deserve recognition for playing 200. I've seen him do some freakish things in his time, actually. He would have done a miles better job than some of the NSW wingers over the years!

Oh cmon, Select would know though ... their facebook and this site gets flooded with complaints and criticism after every signle release!

It's like the Knights since Tinkler have taken over. He's a very successful businessman. He dropped prices to games and membership prices significantly and the result was a 30% increase in crowds in 2011. Memberships are at all time highs for 2013.

Like the dodgy Knights administration before Tinkler took over, Select don't realise that the better quality/more exciting product they produce, the better their sales will be. It will cost more to produce, but will lead to an increase in profit.

Case in point - their crap 2009 Champions set. Put in the minimum effort and outlay because people will buy it anyway. It obviously didn't work that time, but they just have no sense of ambition to produce a product that will really create excitement and sell a whole lot more.

Look i know it might sound stupid but I know someone on the inside. Its fact. Think back to the non existant second series in 2010. It did not happen becaise the distributer was almost broke after poor selling tags, figurines and champions.

In terms of selects favebook page they just delete bad feedback. Just ask 1967sharks and myself.

Maybe make 300 Game signed case cards /50 from the past. Start with Ettingshausen.

I do think that if Steve told Select that we need game used, Lower #d sigs etc, Select would make it happen.

I dont think they have a brain between them unfortunately.

No doubt it will be Champions for S1 then a hobby set for S2.

I cant see Select ever dropping the Champions set, its an entry-level product in every way, obviously aimed at kids and the casual card collector, which is a good thing IMO. It builds the base market and encourages (hopefully) future big spenders and hardcore collectors.

Yes, but they do see the negative feedback on their Facebook before they delete it, that's my point. They would know about all the dissatisfaction with their product.
