he gets two years which is good but the other clown that king hit that kid got four years for murder there needs to be some sort of consistency in the system.
On another topic I hope that other moron gets charged for murder for king hitting Daniel Christie. What is wrong with people they blame the drugs and alcohol all they want in my opinion they are d*** heads and morons before they even started drinking, drinking just gives them the courage to do it.

I think society in general has long been sick of the lenient sentences given by the judicial system for criminal offences, particularly those with violence attached. I have no doubt Packer and his legal rep walked into court and entered the early plea expecting a fine, slap on the wrist and maybe a community based order of some description. It was refreshing to see a magistrate hand down a decent sentence for what was an unprovoked and cowardly attack. Packer was lucky the facial fractures were not more significant as his charge would have been upgraded. I will not be surprised however if his appeal is upheld and his sentence reduced as his legal team will argue he now has no contract and has to support his wife and young family away from their support networks.

The sentencing of that bloke who murdered that kid as you mentioned is ludicrous. No thought ever goes to the victim's family in these cases, the flea will do his time, get out as a young man. The unfortunate fact in these cases is more often than not the offender is charged with murder but pleads or is found guilty of manslaughter as the intent to kill ( key element if murder) cannot be proven. Add to that any mitigating circumstances the offender comes up with (provocation or personal issues) you get these insufficient sentences.
