I think ESP are doing the right thing. They are protecting the value of the card for their customers that have already paid $200 for them.
If they start discounting the product people will hang off buying new cards on release and wait until they decide to reduce the price.
I don't have these cards but I would think the people that have shelled out for them would be happy with this decision.
I think ESP is only having these cards destroyed because certain people paid $200 thinking once they sold out they'd be able to resell at a higher cost. Now that the cards haven't sold out they can't.
Nah - they planned it all along. It was announced before they came out at the Penrith show. Its in a thread here somewhere.

The destroyed cards are:
Gallen numbers 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 & 50.
Smith numbers 45, 46, 47 & 48.
I will have them with me at upcoming shows at Mornington, Geelong, Penrith & Parramatta for all to see!
There are now only 44 Gallens and 46 Smiths in existence in the secondary market.
Great for all those who purchased one! Another great ESP initiative.
Not really a great initiative, because no matter what the cards still say #/50 so unless ESP issue a Stat dec or something to the other card holders.
yeah but that means nothing in the future. is everyone who owns these cards going to keep a photo and say that there is only 44 ever distributed.
they are not being destroyed, they are being reintroduced into the market.
has 1980 flickers the card turned up as yet
