Well, in regards collecting, I think anything with your player on it is definitely fit for a Player collection.
But in terms of the PC Battle, I don't feel that if my PC player is Lamar Odom, I should be presenting a dual auto with Kobe. I should be presenting the best cards I have of Lamar without relying on another players merit to give the card wow factor.
That might be a little precious having read it back to myself, but it's just my opinion.
As far i i'm concerned, if it's listed as a player card for my pc's then it's in. Someone mentioned the Donruss team checklists - some of those do have players clear to see on them. Take, for example the boston celtics checklist - sitting immediately to shaq's right is Kevin Garnett. Therefore, that is a Garnett PC card for me. It could also be considered a pc card for Shaq, Tony Allen,Rajon Rondo, Nenad Krstic, Marquis Daniels or Nate robinson -all of whom can be clearly identified on the card.
The more I thought about it this morning whilst I tried to sleep the more I think for me it is about the money as I stated above last night. A high end jordan on his own is pricey, so throw in a kobe or lebron doubles the card value again. So if I am going to spend $1000+ on a card, personally I rather have MJ only.

I understand why people wouldn't want to PC multi-player cards as it would make the PC chase a bit different.
I personally, being a completist, want to have everything Aminu is featured on, this being the case, I know I'll have to spend more for cards featuring superstars such as the cards he's featured on with Blake. If my PC player was featured on a bunch of cards with MJ, I'd have to considering not collection multi-player cards.
So to answer the question, Yes, I do considering multi-player cards as PC cards.
