Are you guys kidding, 8 weeks to wait for a redemption! Haha FML!
Coming up to 2 years waiting on a redemption...
Waited for 5 years with UD (initially forgot) and asked for a replacement which I did get in a timely manner....
Normally I'm more than happy to wait...however as mentioned in the initial post, a majority of the cards are already available and have continued to pop up on a regular basis. There should be no reason for a delay when the redemption was requested prior to the cards becoming available.
So I don't think it's unreasonable to question their process or to wonder what exactly is going on at Panini. Have the cards been replaced? Are they no longer available? Do they show preferential treatment? Problems with the data base?
Called them again before work this morning. Same moron (Scott) answered the phone and same story. Was told by this same person 2 weeks ago that they are just about finished with their baseball and football requests as there aren't that many to begin with and it wouldn't be more than 2 weeks before they started processing basketball and hockey.
He now says they are still on baseball and it's going to take them at least 4 - 6 more weeks to finish processing those requests which apparently wasn't that many to begin with!
While I had him on the phone, I ask him about redemptions that are well over the 4 - 8 month limit and he offers to replace them straight away? So he is able to get up off his ass and sort through the very same cards if it was a replacement request but not for a request when they actually have the cards available ??!?!
Thanks for sharing jkidd. Its some sort of explanation even though its not one I want to hear, at least we know the reason for such delays is because they are focusing on getting baseball redemptions out. Sounds like they need to hire extra hands or better yet assign people specifically in each sports code so at least the redemptions get sorted rather than ignore them completely and focus just on one sport.
I received an email from David Sharp the customer service manager (took 3 days to reply), saying he'll assign someone to look into my redemptions. Guess I'll just wait and see what happens.
Agreed, the process is flawed and what's worse is they don't seem to care or even acknowledge it. Once cards go back to them, they should check all existing requests for that card before locking them away just because it may not be the period for processing a particular sport, release, player...etc. The process itself puts them on the back foot straight away, no matter how fast they get through it. And of course, they definitely need more people processing these orders. This should be priority for them, and yet it is not. They put more effort into writing tales of BS for jackasses like Hackler to promote their sub-par products on the Knight's Lance.
At least in your case, David Sharp responded to you. Hopefully they will do what they get paid to do for once.
UPDATE: Just checked my Panini account and most of my redemptions bar 2 have been posted! Not sure if it had anything to do with my polite email or they're finally getting around to basketball redemptions now. Sent an email a week ago, received a reply from David Sharp 3 days later and emailed a follow up email saying thank you etc, 3-4 days later posted! Hopfully everyone else's are being processed or soon anyway including yours @jkidd05. I'm expecting a nice little package from Fedex over the coming days
