Panini Redemption Delays

Has anyone experienced a delay in receiving live redemptions lately?

Currently waiting on about 20 redemptions, of which at least 16 are confirmed live on their blog and have popped up regularly on eBay and various discussion forums in the past 2 months.

Is there anyone else to contact besides David Sharpe or Scott Rinehart?
Both do not respond to emails and when you get them on the phone they keep saying it will take a maximum of 2 weeks to process requests...it is now 8 weeks and counting!

I've had a Prizm sticker auto pending since April.

The funny thing is that they have already sent out the base auto redemptions for this card, but not the Prizm version (#/25) of it.

Cheers
Matt

There must be something going on internally maybe some issues. Been waiting on a bunch of redemptions too and have seen a few of them about with other members months ago and I am still waiting. I mean if they already have the cards sitting there why can't they just pop them into a parcel and post them already? As for David and Scott they probably have hundreds maybe many more emails every week I am sure that they are not checking.

Yeah I don't understand the process which is really frustrating. I first raised the issue over the phone 2 months ago as I was worried some of the cards would end up being someone else's replacements. I was assured the requests would be processed within 2 weeks.

Fast forward another month, called again 2 weeks ago and he claimed they were being backed up with football and baseball redemptions. I asked them if the card is available why not just fulfill the request? Apparently they process requests by sport rather than a card's availability (stupid logic). Say for example baseball has a slow period in redemption requests, they won't use that extra time to process another sport's redemptions simply because they have allocated that period to a specific sport!

Again I was assured these cards would be shipped in a couple of weeks. A total of 8 weeks and nothing! Meanwhile the same cards have continued to appear online on eBay and trading card forums.

Customer service has never been and will never be this company's priority.

Are you guys kidding, 8 weeks to wait for a redemption! Haha FML!

Coming up to 2 years waiting on a redemption...

Waited for 5 years with UD (initially forgot) and asked for a replacement which I did get in a timely manner....

Normally I'm more than happy to wait...however as mentioned in the initial post, a majority of the cards are already available and have continued to pop up on a regular basis. There should be no reason for a delay when the redemption was requested prior to the cards becoming available.

So I don't think it's unreasonable to question their process or to wonder what exactly is going on at Panini. Have the cards been replaced? Are they no longer available? Do they show preferential treatment? Problems with the data base?

My longest one is close to 2 years currently. Just got alerts that my 2 dragics I redeemed a month ago have been sent out, so they seem to be good and bad. I still hate redemptions like everyone else in the hobby.

I have 2 Kyrie auto redemptions that are over a year old now. They were worth a lot more at the time I redeemed them and all of my enthusiasm about receiving them has pretty much disappeared. 13 months so far and nothing received... so I paid good money for a box of IOU's. I don't know many other hobbies or industries where this would be acceptable.

Had the same issue with them recently, have two Durant autos been outstanding several months to nearly a year from sets back nearly a year ago.

The worst I have waiting is for a customer and friend, Kyrie Irving HRX from 12/13 Totally Certified been waiting nearly yr and a half for. Very disappointing especially the money we spend busting these boxes etc, Trouble is Upper Deck were worse what is this world coming to.

Agreed. The point here is not who has waited the longest, the fact that anyone who has spent good money or had the good fortune to redeem a card and wait longer than Panini has specified, especially if the same card you've redeemed is already out in circulation.

I find it interesting that a company as big as Panini seems to have a serious problem with its processes and procedures in the redemption department. It's been a problem for years and yet little improvement if any. Even establishing and implementing some sort of response policy to let customers know what's going on after the 4 or 8 weeks mark.

Ignoring customers, keeping them in the dark and leaving us hanging for longer than the specified time is not acceptable. They really need to just address this issue and not keep quiet and expect everyone to just suck it up.

I sent them a polite and respectful email today, will update if I get a response. Fingers crossed ;)

Called them again before work this morning. Same moron (Scott) answered the phone and same story. Was told by this same person 2 weeks ago that they are just about finished with their baseball and football requests as there aren't that many to begin with and it wouldn't be more than 2 weeks before they started processing basketball and hockey.

He now says they are still on baseball and it's going to take them at least 4 - 6 more weeks to finish processing those requests which apparently wasn't that many to begin with!

While I had him on the phone, I ask him about redemptions that are well over the 4 - 8 month limit and he offers to replace them straight away? So he is able to get up off his ass and sort through the very same cards if it was a replacement request but not for a request when they actually have the cards available ??!?!

Thanks for sharing jkidd. Its some sort of explanation even though its not one I want to hear, at least we know the reason for such delays is because they are focusing on getting baseball redemptions out. Sounds like they need to hire extra hands or better yet assign people specifically in each sports code so at least the redemptions get sorted rather than ignore them completely and focus just on one sport.

I received an email from David Sharp the customer service manager (took 3 days to reply), saying he'll assign someone to look into my redemptions. Guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

Agreed, the process is flawed and what's worse is they don't seem to care or even acknowledge it. Once cards go back to them, they should check all existing requests for that card before locking them away just because it may not be the period for processing a particular sport, release, player...etc. The process itself puts them on the back foot straight away, no matter how fast they get through it. And of course, they definitely need more people processing these orders. This should be priority for them, and yet it is not. They put more effort into writing tales of BS for jackasses like Hackler to promote their sub-par products on the Knight's Lance.

At least in your case, David Sharp responded to you. Hopefully they will do what they get paid to do for once.

UPDATE: Just checked my Panini account and most of my redemptions bar 2 have been posted! :woot: Not sure if it had anything to do with my polite email or they're finally getting around to basketball redemptions now. Sent an email a week ago, received a reply from David Sharp 3 days later and emailed a follow up email saying thank you etc, 3-4 days later posted! Hopfully everyone else's are being processed or soon anyway including yours @jkidd05. I'm expecting a nice little package from Fedex over the coming days :D

Congrats! Definitely a pleasant surprise I'm sure! :D

Perhaps it was your email that did the trick as I have yet to see any updates on my account!
