Ok is it to early to start a 2014 origin specific thread? I love the banter, taunting and predictions every year! Personally I'm a massive blues fan and think this could finally be our year, despite the two QLD home games. For the first time in a while we're seeing NSW having selection problems caused by having to many players in form as opposed to Queensland's heroes who haven't been in sparkling form at club level. Robbie Farah's injury may hurt our prospects but i finally feel like we might have a team to rival what has been a truly world beating QLD team over the last few years. Time for a blues resurgence. I'm calling a 2-1 series for the blues but here's to another awesome series. CAAARRRN BLUES! NEW SOUTH WALES, NEW SOUTH WALES!
I go for QLD but this isnt bias (sorta) 2-1 to QLD
I just think while NSW is probably in form, they have been hit with a tone of injuries and not knowing your halves still at this stage while QLD have known theres for years will help
Also GI is on fire, JT and Smith always step up,
NSW may have us beat in the forwards though
It'll be a tight one i think and will come down to who is willing to put in, Surely NSW are sick of losing I dont think we are sick of winning
Should start printing the 9 Straight Memorabilia now
I reckon QLD have one more series win in them before JT, Cronk, Smith and Slater begin that descent in to old age.
Sigh.
I remember a time when I would burn down houses if NSW lost an Origin match, let alone a series. These days…it's a weary shake of the head. QLD too good, deservedly so on the talent they posses.
Despite winning 8 in a row there has rarely been anything between the teams. I would say NSW have had the better pack for the last few years but QLD just keep turning up and never go away. The major difference for me is that QLD have several match winners who can pull a magic play out of the hat when needed.
For some reason when NSW lose my kids bolt from the lounge room.
QLD 9 straight and i cant believe i am saying that.
Has anyone have any predictions of the team line ups.
Qld picks it's self just about, there may be a forward to get promoted or a chance for a bench spot, I kind of wish tate wouldn't get picked but I'm thinking he will:
Slater, tate, Inglis, Hodges (chambers if Hodgo isn't 100%) Boyd, JT, Cronk, Scott, Smith, Myles, thaiday, Gillett, Parker bench: DCE, Shillington, Pappali, teo
So my guess is McQueen dropped but probably will be there
Have to think a but harder for NSW
