Official ESP 2016 NRL Traders Thread (Sell Sheet Page 14)

Has to be one or the other and not both

Do like them set out like this when there is 2 parallels tho

or perhaps they should loosen up the lower end cards to fill the packets. Or 2 parallels a pack, to make it a lot easier to collect.

Here is a question for everyone, would you be happy to forgo your 1 per pack parallel and only have one set falling 1 in 4 packs?

Serious question!
get rid of them all together, reduce the the amount of cards per pack and the cost per pack.
Start the set of with Nth qld, then the broncos, all the way done the table to last as they finnished in the comp, at least that way everybody knows what year they finnished.

Traders is supposed to be more directed at kids so I'd say leave it so they get at least one "special card"
Elite, flag them!
1:5 I say
But not $9 a pack

The thing is, aside from the cost of the stock and a few small design tweaks, parallels don't add that much to the cost overall. Getting rid of them probably wouldn't allow you to knock a dollar off a pack.

ESP have virtually killed off the Master Set collector so why not just keep the parallels going, stick six or seven parallel sets in and keep numbering the higher end versions: -/200, -/150, -/100, -/50, -/25, -/10.

That was pretty much tried (1 in 3 packs) with 2012 LE. I didn't mind it but those packs were way too expensive given the other limited (and unnumbered - since addressed) inserts in the set.

Mike

I guess the main question is, if Traders stayed at $3.99 a pack (cant see it going down at all) and you got 9 base cards only would you be happy?

I mean even if you knock back the parallels to 1:3 packs there will be 12 of those a box plus probably 8 - 10 other inserts ......lets say 20 inserts in a 36 pack box.

That's 16 packs without any inserts. Would the casual punter/collector be happy with this?

Cheers
Matt

One of set of parallels, different image and mix up the style year to year like Select did. Die cuts, Footy Faces, holofoils

Of Course Not. Spending 4 bucks for 12 commons is ridiculous. I think Traders is good as it is, take away a few subsets like faces and black parallels. The normal parallel set should be fine.

20 hits per box wouldn't bother me too much as long as they have a decent 1:36 and a 1:72 hit.

That was always the beauty of Select series 2, one auto per box, the predictors (they top try scorer theme did get dull in the end though).

Yes forgo the 1 per pack parallel and just keep the 1 in 4 pack parallel.
You could even have a few subsets that replace the 1 per pack parallel. Something different to chase and something different to look at.

Firstly if parallels have a different image or design then they are not a parallel.

I like having a parallel sets.

I would like 1 set insert as current 1:1.

I would then like Ltd Parallels Team sets number and done as a redemptions. this would then maintain the value.

this would also stop people hoarding parallels like they did with the 2014 South's Gold Parallels

A checklist and sell sheet a month out would be nice to build excitement to see what cards we really want to add to our respective collections.

Will also allow us time to budget for the cards to come out that we really want

No reason why this cannot be done.

Hope this gets passed on to ESP and sneaky pics being leaked from now of all the players signing their cards is a nice treat to wet the appetite.

Look in the cricket thread about the sig cards from 15/16 tap n play and they slowly over a week or 2 released pics of the players signing.

100% spot on......multiple images of a player for both a base card and a parallel starts getting very expensive.

That is an excellent point and despite how obvious it is I have never really thought about it like that.

At the very least the style of the card could vary for a low end parallel.
