At the end of the day I do beleive in second and even third chances as I myself have had mine, but I do not beleive lodge should ever be able to be looked up to by kids.

How can a man bash a father and severely frighten and cause mental damage to a man, woman and CHILD and then be able to run around a stadium with a ball in front of tens of thousands of people including children and have children cheer for and applaud him when he runs with a ball.

This is a bullshit example to be setting for our children

I don't care what his rehabilitation is as far as I'm concerned he has blown his chance of being a role model for children and shouldn't and doesn't get another one in my book!!!!!!!

You’re right about that mate , I don’t think you’re human if you haven’t made 2or 10 mistakes in your life ? Andrew Johns admitted taking drugs for most of his career and he is a commentator with more reach to children. It’s adults with the problem. Go and ask school kids who Matt Lodge is ?? They wouldn’t have a clue . It’s also something that gets forced upon the players to be “role models” . What 6 year old starts playing footy so that one day they can be a role model ?? If you have kids and are relying on a football player to be a role model for them , probably need to look at yourself .
 
Ive been to about 8 different newsagents between chermside and sunny coast and same result. No starters or folders for NRL only AFL.
 
Went to my local newsagency at Macquarie Centre during my lunch break. Fresh box but no starters or folders. I check with another newsagency later this afternoon when i get off work.

By the looks of it we may be waiting until monday for folders and starters. Now im going to have to stop myself from buying too many loose packs
 
Just want to check I have got this correct. There is 18 startoons in the set. With 5 different versions. The basic acetate then a yellow, green , blue and pink version of each. Also are all the colour variants only found in starters or some found in standard packs. Thanks for any help

All colour variations only available in starter packs... Pink are stamp numbered to 100

Nah just a realist and know that people with lives make mistakes. Some people live a sheltered existence and don’t get it . You know the stats on people getting sent to jail and then returning. I’m sure you do as you seem to have a opinion or have heard ”rumours” on almost every subject that is posted on here . Not sure why you attack everything ? Might need to put a lampshade on your head ?Cheers

Nope speak from personal experience, you would have no idea what I have seen. If you care to look back at my original point it wasn’t anything even close to what you are suggesting. In fact it was near opposite, of course people deserve second chances if they earn them. In my opinion Lodge hasn’t, others have. To deserve a second chance I feel someone must take full responsibility for their actions. He interview was anything but, it was contradicting and at times self serving.

Trust me, I get it, I live in a very real world. So much so I think you will find that the vast majority would feel he hadn’t yet earned his second chance.

Lastly this is a public forum. Opinions are how it runs and I don’t feel having an opinion is attacking anything. Obviously you don’t agree and nor do you have to because I will still have an opinion if I want regardless if you agree or disagree.

So what do actually want him to do? He hasn’t got the money to pay it back at this point. He was declared bankrupt after his criminal case. What would please you?

What should he do then to prove he’s sorry ? And where is he supposed to find a ridiculous amount of 1.6 mill from? I watched the interview and not sure what you want ? As for most people , they did a pole on triple m Sydney yesterday and it was 50/50 if he should be allowed to return . The blokes done 2 years of rehab and counseling and spent 2 weeks in Rikers Island . Tougher jail then anything Australia has got to offer ? . What injuries did they receive ? Nightmares ? Bet 1.6 would make them disappear lol. What was contradicting about saying he forgets parts of a bender ? He was obviously off chops and had severe mental health issues.Should Andrew Johns be allowed to be involved in the game ?

Take full responsibility. The debt is an issue of course but it is the lack of responsibility that concerns me. My first post was that he couldn’t recall as he blacked out but next question he disagrees with facts presented to the court.

Which is it? Do you recall or not? If you do fine, then admit to your actions that were clearly visible on the CCTV and don’t blame other aspects.

Maybe some lectures at schools, lectures to women’s shelters about violence. Because of Brisbane’s profile he has a great shot at turning this around.

He forgets the incident because he blacked out but disagrees with facts presented to the court? How is that not contradictory? You either recall or not and take stock either way.

The counseling and rehab etc are all positive aspects on a personal level but how about something for the broader community? Lectures in schools, women’s shelters?
 
Can I just say that I don't give a rat's rectum about Matt Lodge other than that he's in my Supercoach team.
So I'll just duck back to the Traders thread momentarily.
My "chunk" theory was rolled out today with some moderate success.
10 packs from Roselands N/A yielded the following: Jamal Idris Retirements, Cam Smith WCH, Josh McGuire Startoons, Josh Dugan SOO Stars and sundry other inserts.
I'm all in.

He’s been doing community service. They don’t need to explain what that’s entailed just to appease annoyed opposition fans. He has also accepted responsibility. He’s also apologised. He had one contradiction in the whole interview and you’re crucifying him for it. What about all the crap the media spun about him hitting women, trying to fight Bellamy, getting sacked from Penrith, when none of it actually happened?
There’s no point debating it further, you’ve formed your opinion.
