Official 2013-14 NBA Regular Season Thread - SPOILERS!

he didn't play in the summer league.....
Seriously? That makes it even worse! The video you posted was from the 11th October in a pre-season game and the season started for the Cavs on the 30th so only 19 days after that! So he had that form less 3 weeks before the start of the season.

His surgery was the 8th May, even from his quote "couldn't shoot 2 or 3 months" is August. So it's now 7 months from his surgery and a further 3 months since his "2 or 3 months".

that orlando game still remains a mystery... no one knows where that bennett has gone. although i must admit that last couple games, he has looked much more comfortably playing at the SF.

A lot of reports are now comparing him to Derrick Williams and Michael Beasley - PF in a SF body and when thrown to the SF really struggle to adjust their games and what he could get away with as a PF at college cant be done in the NBA

well he has played better at the SF in the last couple games then he had played at the PF all season

Not sure what you are meaning by this, but he played the last 4 mins of the first quarter and none of the starters played more than 2 minutes in that time

what i mean is, like last week he wasn't getting minutes and now he is getting minutes in the first quarter, with our best bench unit

Just had a look at the standings, man the East is weak this year!!

As of now Wizards #3 seed, Boston #4 seed, heck even the Bobcats who have been horrible, are in the playoff picture as the #8 seed!?!?!
Also didnt expect to see the Blazers atop the West this year, they didnt even make the playoffs last year with virtually the same roster?!

The East is horrible but also dealing with key injuries to teams we all thought would do well (Nets, Knicks, Bulls).

I've watched a few Bobcats games and they are surprisingly decent, they add a couple more pieces (1rookie and another FA up there with Al Jeff) and they'll consistently be in the playoffs.

The Blazers have alot more depth this year and the addition of a Center is huge, they had Hickson all last year and they had the worst defense because of it. They were also running their guys at max mins because of that lack of depth and then had guys get burnt out.

Blazers are looking very nice this year.

I think him being out of shape and looking way to heavy (fat) is also part of it.
I think Charles Barkley's comment on his own rookie year on Open Court sums it all up. He was really happy that when he got drafted by the Sixers that guys like Moses and Dr.J were there to show him the ropes of what it takes to be in the NBA and get him into game shape.

Who on the Cavs should take that role? Its a bunch of rookies/sophomores with a few centers that have battled injuries and have enough stuff for themselves to handle. You cant expect Kyrie to show the young fella around he's only going into his 3rd year himself and Jarrett Jack (even though he has the age) is just a role player.
I think they would have been better of swapping the pick.

More from Carmelo on the rumor he's decided to leave the Knicks already, which Stephen A. Smith reported: "I don’t know who his sources are, but if it’s not coming from me, if it’s not coming from people I talk to on a daily basis, which I don’t talk to anybody about that – anybody on my crew, anybody on my team, family, nobody – then it’s just not true." Jermaine O'Neal has been playing with a sprained right wrist, which is technically a tear of the ligaments, but there are no plans for the Warriors backup center to have surgery. The severity of the injury is unknown, as the Warriors aren't saying. O'Neal, according to team sources, has had the wrist checked out a few times, the latest examination coming Monday.
