Official 2011-2012 Playoff thread

I am sick of Danny Green getting no love! In the early part of Game 1, Pop switched Green onto CP3 in defense and he held Paul brilliantly. This was evident by the fact that most of his shots under pressure were missing and most of his scoring came when Green was on the bench.

Yet the ONLY reason the commentators gave for why his stats were down for the series was because of his injury??

Agreed, he wasn't his best, but it was also largely due to Green's D

Is it me or is Chris Paul driving with Green on him and Duncan coming across a low percentage shot?

I know he's come up with the winner before and they got him to 'close' but surely there's another option?
Yeah, spot on! Definately a low % shot! But who else takes it?? Maybe Mo the way he was firing those one handed running jumpers lately?? But no one else IMO

Griffin? He was killin post moves and turnaround jumpers in Q1 of game 3 huh! (I watched the condensed game today before gm4, man, he was awesome).

CP is too small to complete that play, is not 100% fit (so people say), and it was predictable!!

haha Griffin was destroying them in the low post in Game 3, but the Spurs switch to a double team play from the other side of the key and Griffin was lost because he can't pass cleanly through 2 players to the open man!
That stopped him from scoring, as much!

Green is a smart defensive guard, I think physically CP3 has a better game. But Green promotes offensive moves for CP3 that create easy defence for his team and offensive problems for LA.
I think if they played one on one, CP3 would win.
But in this series Green has made CP3 think he can beat him, only to find to much help for Green. Completely outsmarted by the older players/team.

Billups would have been good for them.

It was a selfish shot, probably the best defender at his position of all time and he tries to pull that off. Neexxxttt...

good thing its a team sport. I think green would be happy to get beat one on one for a win.

Sure enough he would, but that was the beauty of the matchup! They were switching on defense. CP3 was running with Parker when the Spurs had the ball, but they switched Green onto him for D!

So there is no 1 on 1 battles going on... more like a bermuda triangle!

Man I was hoping Indy could get it done today. Lebron what a freak. That kind of performance does'nt shut his critics up though, because everyone knows he can do it, what they want is him to do it all the time. Unfortunately that's how it is for him.

I still like Indy's chances, they need to win the boards. Game 5 should be a belter.

Great to see the Spurs swat aside L.A. That team needs to improve alot if they want to get close to a chip. They can start by stop dancing whenever someone dunks it, it happens every game, it's 2 points, move on.

I'm hoping Lakers can win against OKC and stretch them one more game at least, that would give the Spurs a handy little advantage.

What a massive series that will be. The savvy vets vs the young studs that are so close they can taste it. I'm nervous about this one. Could this be a 7 game series?

The savvy vets vs the young studs

The funny thing is that the Spurs have been getting referred to as the Oldies and Vets for most of the season, however 2 of their 6 players that are in their 30's only joined in the last month of the regular season.

And.... OKC actually now have 4 players of their own in their 30's!!

The average age is lower at OKC because or the likes of Gary Neal and Splitter who were mature rookies!

It all comes down to D in my opinion! The better D will win because both teams can score 100+ easily, and if you saw the Clips series, you will know that the only time the Spurs looked like losing, was when they were on their way to a sub 90pt game!

If you can't keep the Spurs below 100, you won't win!

I think the difference is that the go to guys on each team are so far apart in age.
The four for OKC aren't as important as the six in San Antonio.

You're right! It is because Durant, Westbrook etc are younger than Duncan, Manu and TP that people make the assumption.

But as far as importance??? Wait until Perkins, Mohammed and Collison have to play against Duncan and see how 'important' they are ;)

Basketball is an old mans sport so title no 5 coming up!! I'm just getting excited, okc series could be one for the ages.

After LeBron James became the first player in over half a century to tally 40 points, 18 rebounds and 9 assists in a playoff game, even some of LeBron's competitors gave him a Twitter standing O after watching Game 4.
Players' Twitter takes on LeBron's Game 4

=D>=D>=D>

He is amazing, no one in the League can do that. NO ONE.

I still wish he was at the Cavs though. Now I just hope to see him lose again.
