ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA'S prospects of signing the Manly brothers Glenn and Brett Stewart are doubtful.
Speculation grew yesterday that the Illawarra siblings would return to their old stomping ground in 2013. Both have reportedly expressed disappointment at Manly's treatment of former coach Des Hasler, who was sacked by the club last week, and were contemplating a move elsewhere.
In a text message to the Illawarra Mercury, Brett Stewart said: ''not going to make any comment thanks anyway''.

But the deal could be over before it begins because of the Dragons' salary cap limitations.
It is understood the brothers each attract around $400,000 a season. That would increase by around $100,000 each when the NRL finalises its lucrative television rights deal.
By the time the 2013 NRL season gets under way, Brett will be 28 and Glenn will be 29. Both have had their share of injuries.
Clubs have a $4.2 million salary cap, which is likely to rise up to $6.6 million if the league achieves its desired $1.4 billion TV rights target for 2013.
Glenn is off contract at the end of next year, while a get-out clause in Brett's contract would allow him to sign with the Dragons immediately. The joint venture's budget has been freed up somewhat by Tim Moltzen reneging on a three-year deal earlier this month, on top of early contract departures by Mark Gasnier and Darius Boyd.
Brett, a NSW and Australian representative fullback, would be a highly formidable replacement for Moltzen next season - but as the Dragons know too well, the Stewarts come only as a package deal.
The Dragons tabled an offer to Brett early last decade following his rise as a successful Illawarra junior, but they didn't offer Glenn a contract.
The Stewart family declined to comment yesterday
