LOL.....better than being a sheep i suppose.

The whole point of Pearce being filmed was that a/ when he woke up the 'filmers' knew that Pearce would do something outrageous and b/ they knew they could make some huge $$$ selling it to the media, while Pearce carried on as a tool as they expected if the text messages that have since been revealed are true then there has to be some sort of law against entrapment surely, it was bad enough for it to be sold to a on line scandal sheet but for it to be onsold to ACA surely someone could have investigated the circumstances before rushing it on to the Nations screens, why one of the Broadcasters of the game got sucked into screening this is mind boggling.

Entrapment?! You probably blame the guy who told the cops Lee Harvey Oswald was at the movies for JFK's death!

I lay the blame for that at the feet of the players ... I mean the incidents hardly took place in places where they knew everyone and would be sure that nothing would come of it (even if Pearce wasn't strictly speaking "in public").

From my perspective (and posts) this point was never in contention. The players did the acts and deserve the punishment. My point was for the image of the game I had hoped the recording didn't make it out.

If i was recorded everytime i got on the booze when i was younger not only would i not have a job but no where would hire me ever haha.

How many people have not done at least one of these in the past: pretended to hump something when on the booze, pissed somewhere you're not suppose to, eg; backyard or gone in to kiss someone and have been rejected.

The 9's are on soon... Surely that would be a much better topic of conversation. Matty Bowen back woo hoo

And Toots Croker! What a champion he was in the day!

:P

Oh right. Well I guess I take the (probably extremely optimistic) view that one day enough of these types of things will have hit the media, enough players will have got big punishments, that the message will get through and players will clean up their acts.

Were you being paid ridiculous sums of money to play a professional sport in the public eye? Because that's what this comes down to, these stars are being paid huge sums of money to play a sport that is in the public eye and are getting paid as a sports "star", as a role model, as a spokesperson for the sport/team, if you were the public face of your company and got filmed doing any of this shit, you think it would still have a job?

Having said that, I hate the media these days, they turn little things in to a mountain of shit and push and push until something gives. Unfortunately the only thing I can do about it personally is to not watch the bullshit and hope that this type of reporting/journalism dies quickly and there is a massive change - this seems unlikely as our society seems to love outrage and im sure within a week or 2 there will be something else to be outraged against. What it does mean though is that all public figures (sport or not) need to accept that if they do stupid shit, someone is likely to film it and you are going to pay for it, that's just the world we live in these days.

Whispers of another Roosters player in trouble from a month ago too.

Uncle Nick rumoured not to be very happy as apparently this one was cleaned up and buried by the club without his knowledge. I guess the muck rakers will let us know all in good time.

After the Souths / Arizona crap last year, you'd have thought clubs wouldn't try to hide anything any more.

I was at Souths training once in 2014. It was after the Weidler / T'eo thing.

Wrongly or rightly, the story broke. None of my business.

What I found interesting was there were 10-15 different media types come in for their puff pieces and every player utterly ignored Weidler. Even when he asked a question they player would point to some other journo and answer their question.

Massoud, Weidler, Bec (who lost me completely when she suggested the Sharks drug regime lead to Mannah's cancer and death), Rothfield...I don't read any of them.

Yeah that's right mate I should of wrote that first, big news for 2 big names of the future

Disappointing but doubt they would have cracked SOO this year. I heard it was for breaking curfew like Gagai a few years back but there might be more to it with Holmes as the NRL Integrity Unit are apparently involved
