Agree tough gig behind Ballin who has played 80 minutes for years.

Not may clubs short of a hooker though it just about leaves the Titans when you go through the team lists

Who thinks that Cam Smith was thrown under the bus last night by the ACA story on Alex McKINNON?

What Cam Smith did at the time was a touch Grubby - But that's Cam Smith....

I'm against people throwing themselves on their head to get the penalty (Inglis has made a career out of it)
And at the time, I thought A McK contributed to the tackle...
Regardless of what Smiths opinion and what was said in the moment - I don't think he should be put on a cross for it.
Every captain in every club (Including McKinnons) would have done and said the same thing (In the moment)

i haven't often agreed with alot of your posts in most recent times, but you have 100% hit the nail on the head here. cam smith being the ultimate competitor is just doing his bit as captain for his team.

Good points Rob. I am a big fan of SMITH, ornament to the game and future immortal but agree he is definitely a niggly, slightly grubby player. I think much of this style of play can be attributed to his competitive nature.

Hindsight is 20/20 and I have no doubt if SMITH knew the seriousness of the injury he would not have been so animated with the referee. Look at Dave TYRELL on the weekend, left the field on a stretcher and a brace but was fine ten minutes later, there are so many serious injuries in league every week and when they occur reactions are often similar so it is difficult to tell. From what I understand SMITH, through the Melbourne Storm has tried to approach Alex Mckinnon several times but has been repeatedly denied by the family.

Lastly how about the way the Graham and Klemmer reacted after Reynolds injury earlier in the year? I know that Reynolds is back now and the injury wasn't as bad as suspected but at the time it could have been season ending / career threatening. I acknowledge that this is difficult to compare as this penalty cost the Dogs the game but the way they remonstrated with the referee was surely much worse than SMITH.

Reading other sites, it was brought up when Snowden busted Ray Thompson's jaw, Gidley argued with the referee over the penalty, etc.

Captains do it these days.

And I'd just like to see the high-fives and gobfuls/trash talk over errors out of the game. When some one knocks on, the defending team prance and cuddle like they just cured an incurable disease. I loathe it.
