NRL Finals & End Of Season Thread

Carney did go missing in SoO in 2012. After all the dramas of the past 4 years, I had hoped it was the shot of redemption to blitz it in SoO, but was a bit doe in the headlights. Much like those rabbits vs the storm. I was so pi$$ed off, I cut up my season ticket in disgust.

That brief interview with Fittler told the story. Resigned, tired and stoney faced. I bet he was no where near fit to play and like all clubs, they needle up the poor buggers and send them out there to get smashed on a hiding to nothing. Not a huge Carney fan, but he looked like he was playing injured for a few weeks. I bet the pressure was on.
 
Ok I finally can talk about this game.
The trip there consisted of downing 18 Strongbows and stopping at every rest stop :blink:
Get to the stadium and the staff were useless, Nobody could find row QQ in Bay 14, so we ended up sitting in this reserved section (2 empty rows behind Campo)
Obnoxious and loud best describes my behaviour, I was confident even upto 15 Mins to go. It seemed after the obstruction call they just switched off.
Its disappointing the score blew out but Canberra were the better team. I will be following whoever wins Souths VS Raiders.

Gallens a grub still?
He was only fired up because Papalii was taking cheap late shots and the refs refused to see it. He even told the refs that he will get him back if they did nothing. Then he hits Wade Graham in the same way.

I doubt Souths will perform that poorly again. They were terrible. i think both teams will be on their games and that one should be a cracker. Personally I hope Souths win as I would rather the Dogs play them. The Raiders are just so unpredictable.

As for Manly I think they are shot if Lyon doesn't line up. Matai deserves to be gone. People say Gallen is a grub?? Matai is the dirtiest player in the game and goes out of his way to physically hurt players in an illegal fashion. How many times has he been suspended for high shots/swinging arms? 1000??

Yeah Cateye is a huge grub........10 times suspended for a total of 18 weeks on the side line, he deserved to be rubbed out for the year IMO. How he keeps getting what seem to be lenient suspensions I will never know.

I also agree Manly gone if Lyon can't play and yep Souths will not play that badly again and end the Raiders fantastic run.

Don't know if this is the right thread but was the closest I could find ...

I am a big NFL fan and I have been dealing with NFL Auctions which is run by the NFL
They have everything from signed game worn cleats, Signed Helmets, Game used gloves and even items like the gatorrade buckets used at the Super Bowl.
The thing I like about this is the NFL does not put any of the money they make in there coffers it all goes towards Junior Development and also charities such as prostrate cancer and breast cancer.
With the NRL relying on poker Machine revenue to provide funds for each club with junior development I think something similar run by the NRL would be a excellent idea if you look at those special framed prints they do on big sporting moments in the papers they are a complete ripoff and will never be worth as much as you paid for them.
I think a pair of Jarrod Hayne, Ben Barba,, Cameron Smith or any of the other big stars would fetch $600+ for game used signed cleats and the NRL should think about doing something like this for junior development of the game

I actually emailed ray hadley about it be interesting to see his opinion if he brings it up on 2GB radio.
