I was hoping this was the case last year, it would be much more exciting/interesting.
This is really scary. Scarcity is a double-edged sword. On one hand it is exciting to have the chance to obtain something rare. However, with so many collectors dropping to team set collecting we are seeing an increase in the amount of card hoarding (monopolising, building number banks etc) that is happening (due I guess to people not having that much to collect anymore...oh...and greed). At the end of the day card collecting is about fun not commerce.
The less people that have the ability to complete sets, the fewer people will bother collecting and a smaller gene pool equals death to the hobby.
Let's see what else the set has to offer I guess. However a feeding frenzy over some ultra-rare parallels is not whetting my apetite at this stage
Power Play is my favourite release by miles at the moment
You are very correct about the scarcity. /40 should be the most limited in NRL releases. We don't have a hobby like the NBA where there are multiple companies producing the cards.
The other concern I have is that every ESP release some dealers receive their product a week or more before others. I certainly don't begrudge the dealers making there money back as they are vital to the hobby but if X amount of cases are allocated to dealers and lots of these super rare MOJO'S limited to /20 are busted then it is not fair to the average collector. There was a theory that the first 200 cases for 16 Traders that came with a Duo as the case card seem to have been stacked. I don't know how true this was but it certainly seemed as though nearly every one of those cases had a second duo and / or a legends signature. If this were to happen with Elite and stacked cases with the very limited cards were provided to some and not others it would be disastrous.
I no for a fact that the first 200 cases were stacked , so it's time time people to talk up because that is an absolute joke that only few could even get these cases , while everyone else couldn'tYou are very correct about the scarcity. /40 should be the most limited in NRL releases. Big claim there mate, hope you are correct.I no for a fact that the first 200 cases were stacked , so it's time time people to talk up because that is an absolute joke that only few could even get these cases , while everyone else couldn't

That's life....
ESP have to look after the people that look after them.
I have no problem with the Dealers getting those cases with the Duo case card.
Why should a guy who buys 1 case (Sometimes) get the same deal as a guy who buys 100 Every year?
The dealers are the guys that take all the risk and keep this hobby ticking over... and good on them. I have no trouble with them getting a dealers deal. If I decided to buy a case tomorrow, I wouldn't expect to get the same deal as Digga.
I agree what your saying just think it's fair to look after all dealers that have been doing it for along time Aswel? I no a couple of dealers that have been in n the game for a very long time that can't even get the product before release date ? That's what I'm saying fairs fair to everyoneThat's life....

Ouch those sapphires are going to hurtUpdate to yesterdays post. Heard today that:
Ruby mojo is one per case.
Sapphire mojo is one in three cases.
Also have heard that Young Gun And League Sensations are back.
If a legends signature is 400 tops coming from a 4 dollar release, and is also a 1 in a case release doesnt that mean:
A 1 in 3 case card, double the price of traders, will cost
(400 X 2) X 3?
so 2400 dollars for a sapphire team set? does that make sense. gotta be pretty absurd for the master set collector, if there are still any out there.
I kind of guessed that. 2 and a half thousand dollars could get you a 2008 master set centenary in brown folder. But isn't it the collectors who decide how much a card is worth? Like who said a legends signature is 400 and who said a SAS signature black is 10 bucks? Are these numbers partially arbitrary?Nope, can't work out card prices that way. There are so many other variables to consider
