The focus was on baseball but you would be naive to think it was not happening across the board - nfl, nba, nhl etc etc
Yeah a bit of wishful thinking on my behalf.

Holy s***, this news about PSA is just as big if not bigger.
Someone mentioned that the prison system will have to build a Separate prison to house these frauds and I'm afraid they are right, this is game changing for the hobby but I seriously think the majority of collectors will just bury their heads in the sand.
Worst thing is I swore by PSA, loved their service & no thrills labeling system so where to now?
Can any of these companies redeem themselves? I think the damage has already been done and the holes that have been dug are too deep to climb out of.
O'GRADY told WELLS that UPPER DECK would buy game used pants and put the pants on their game used cards.
Well that just made me feel wrong after admitting to touching the jersey part of cards when they arrived in this thread a couple of months ago :

A lot of the Panini Authentic is gathered in person Panini has reps at the games as well as events like the Olympics who take control of the items like Kobes shoes pretty much straight awayWhile people hate seeing event worn gear from the rookies, you at least know its been worn by them at the photo shoot....may have only been for a minute but its been worn by them.
The one thing I will say is that Panini does have agreements in place with certain teams now for Game Used material (Lakers and Mavs) and I would rate their current buying practices better than some others despite being mentioned in the article. They have used a lot of NBA jerseys purchased from meigray and steiner (Knicks) so you know a majority of them are legit.
A great example of this is this:
There have been a few cards I have owned over the years that had patches of legends on them that looked very "new" against other patches ive seen from players of a similar era.
Makes you wonder!
Cheers
Matt
Just noticed that Panini is named in that article.......
