I can see your point and been a collector if i had the opportunity to purchase "Select" by winning the lotto, i would, so i could get the cards and make them as well, best of both worlds...
Why keep a numbered one at all? Select make multiple extras in the event cards come out damaged. Top Prospects signed 350 cards and Select release them /300 so they have 50 backups...keep one of the extras of each card if you want to keep a catalog.
why can they get in trouble?
remember reading in the AFL section that there was a Select no1 of an AFL card on ebay at the start of the year. went crazy high if i remember correctly.if i owned select ,i would choose another number but it would be a low number
bet you see them on ebay one day for small fortune
then it poses the question is select a collector or a retail outlet
so does that mean selects owner ,i wont mention any names, has folders full of no1 inserts tucked away somewere ?

So you don't see a problem with this happening? You don't feel it cheats the collectors out of the opportunity to get some great cards, and ruins the hobby for everyone else?
If I owned a card company I would never do anything like that ... coz it wouldn't be about me, it'd be about making my customers happy, and growing the industry.
