ah and the mystery continues.. i feel ya pain tho.. I've lost thousand in this hobby.. just from dodgy people.. that's why i disappeared for a while and started spending money on my car.. but some people in hobby are just.... kents... putting it nicely lol

Man terrible story. Sorry to hear. When someone promises you something, they should deliver at that price. I can understand if you had not negotiated anything, that maybe demand has changed.

This whole BS started with UPPERDECK. Originally a case was $1200, then it shot up to $1700 then it went to $1800.

As a fleer collector I was so pissed of that I almost gave up collecting any new fleer products. But the fleer logo had be calling haha.

With the current prices I would have definetly given up, perhaps on collecting and would just stick to completing some older sets.

Why is everyone so worried about upsetting the people that screw us around and not name them? Let us see who the dogs are!!!

Would like to hear the other side of the story, but sounds like a pretty sh*tty deal man. Weren't even given the chance to pay more, just sold out from under ya!?

Perth's only reputable card shop, in my opinion, operated by Peter and his son are the only ones I've heard of that has honoured their pre-order price, including word of honour. And it's no coincidence that they have survived since they began in the 90s while others come and go. For the record I did not get any Fleer Retro from them. But just before Linsanity happened I asked if they could hold onto 2 cases of NT for me while I get cash together. When I went to pick up the cases, all the case prices were more than doubled. I was willing to pay more, but Peter said we had a deal. I told him to ring his son to make sure and his son said the same thing.

Who's that? lol - what shop?

Hey GoMoto,

I still have one case left...

Give me a buzz and tell me what you had in mind re: this bust for OZCT members. Maybe we can work something out where everyone wins.

Cherry live viewers will recall we almost got a bust "for love" happening on Monday night... so close, if only we could've weined Arthy off the Season Update...

I'll say this .. if you only want to sell locally and service your local customers then why bother advertising your store online? Just shut down all shipping and only sell to those who come in.

I went into a golf store yesterday that sells a lot on eBay. He said that 75-80% of their sales come off the internet/ebay. They aren't holding onto their stock in the hope that someone locally will buy it. I bought an item and they had no hesitation giving me their ebay pricing which was 10% lower than instore.

All sales (both local and interstate) pay the bills. If you're knocking back potential customers and giving lame excuses all you're doing is making a bad name for yourself and losing more potential customers.

Sorry to hear all this guys. My cases mostly sold pre-release. Have been trying to get more but prices are crazy compared to the value of the hits. Deals for secondary cases fell through so I feel your pain.

But do remember a deal is not a deal until it is fully agreed by both parties.

Even though the price was going crazy I sold at my advertised price. I didn't get to bust any lol :( customers first.

Having said that I will not be beaten on any panini basketball case. Thing is you need to get in early with me as I only get one crack at the factory.
Prestige available next week. Refer thread for pre-sell. Also small card stands are in and vault boxes for graded cards are on the water as well.
As always may the Mojo be with you

I know a bit more info about this than others do and the deal was not set! It was still in negotiations as far as I am concerned and the seller in question didn't do anything wrong imo!

I can't believe how many times threads need to appear where people are not given any benefit of the doubt! We have seen it time and time again.

In this case, the seller in question has already been blacklisted by numerous people in this thread, without knowing the other side of the story!

All I know is that I will have no problems dealing with the person in the future, and I also know that if I want something, I need to 100% commit and make arrangements to pay before assuming something is a done deal

I bet it's the one seller that has a nice reputation of not replying to enquiries about cards and boxes for a few days after you say you would take them, to tell you it's sold/gone/not available/different price, personally I just don't deal with them at all anymore and tell my friends, word of mouth with sort out the good from bad eventually :)

What makes a deal set and negotiations over?

I guess once payment is made going off some reply's.
Im one for keeping deals even if only a verbal agreement, not a fan of back tracking just to make a few bucks more. You'll lose those few $$ you raped a buyer on once word gets around you're a kent and no one want's to buy sh!t from you in the future.

Maybe said person should defend their case and give their side of the story? Might help people understand the situation a bit better or not. Its only their business that will suffer over the allegations

Agree with this. Whilst GoMoto is an upstanding bloke there is always two sides of the story. It could be just a bit of mis-communication, as in Go believed the deal was done whilst the other party believed it was still open. However the longer the accused party stays out of the thread and doesn't tell their side of the story the more guilty they will look.

If this was the blowout forum they would have been hung already depending on if they had the backing of the mob or not lol :D
