Fleer Retro thoughts so far

Agreed.....some of the cards are nice but I think they have missed the mark as well!

Fully agree...there is a lot of hype about this set, with high end inserts and all, but i dont think they will ever replace the actual inserts and sets they are trying to mimic.... look look fantiastic, but others are not asthetically pleasing, and with limited photography from college days, quality is compromised, aswell as design
...quite frankly, im getting over seeing the greats in their college uniforms, far enough some look fantastic, but owing an actual card from the vintage days and error it was issued is 10 times better than these new retros, even if its not numbered to 50, is green or red...

I just saw an MJ Autographics pulled on another thread here, and I must say that card looks like such a major disappointment.

From what used to be a highly sought-after, on-card auto, to something that's got a smaller-than average sticker slapped on it.

annoyed and jealous. could throw up for deciding not to get one. as someone whos collecting focus is mainly on 90s inserts, and who avoids buying panini products, this shouldve been a no-brainer.
i knew there was hype, but didnt imagine this. surely these prices cant last?
will there be another release?

The only reason I would be jealous is to not be profiting from it. I still think the cards are a joke and the prices are even more absurd. How can things be 1:180 yet showing up in every break... PMGs selling for thousands of dollars when they are multiple per box?? I was already done with the hobby, but if I wasn't, this would have pushed me over the edge. The whole thing is absurd now.

No offence to people who really dig these "professional counterfeits" but people buying cards numbered to /150 for thousands ? people sitting on cases to make huge profits when the thing has just been released??.... I have so much respect for people like Cobretti. A dying breed for sure.

The hobby is fucked, people are just trying to make money flat out. For example a member here bought a certain card for $200 and posted a mailday about how great it was to get his set completion up - lo and behold the same bloody card is on the bay for a grand now.

to be honest, i wish i'd spent my money on GS or something. it'll be impossible to try and buy the cards i want at these ridiculous prices. and half the inserts look shotty
