he bought the michael licha young gun though, and then like 3 weeks later he just shut up shop, listed everything for sale and is kind of doing what im doing i think, just pick up the odd game worn jersey.

he tried doing everything in a package for a good deal to aprilbancroft but i think because it was justin he wasnt interested, so im not sure what he ended up doing with it all, im sure he still has some stuff he was pretty stubborn if he wasnt getting a good price he wouldnt of sold it.

Yes but all of the select product was sold to Wangy (JHL) He now owns the stock.
Who owns the ESP stock, IKON???? My point is that ESP will have plenty of stock laying around forever, The production rates have been very high, and prices a little expensive for the value you get.

AS others have said, I have just about given up on collecting rl cards. I will probably keep buying dogs cards and that will be it.

And any company that doesnt make profits, doesnt last long. (i understand they make plenty of other cards, but RL will be their failure).

I don't see the difference Rey. Wangy will probably sell as much 2010 champions as Ikon will sell 2012 Limited Edition this year. Your going to be able to by cases of both of these in 10 years.

And I know I'm just going to be called a ESP stooge here but these guys are doing plenty good in the hobby and some of the shit that gets put on them in here is just overboard.

Elite was a great product last year. Sure Traders sucked - but they listened to the feedback and have made big leap forward on it this year.

They have done more to build the hobby in 12 months than Select did on 12 years. Getting kids into the hobby with Power Play, giving major support to all the card shows everywhere and look all the product they give away in here.

Just ask @graham how much much support he used to get from Select compared to what he gets now from ESP.

I can appreciate as much as anyone that we are all passionate about the hobby and it's fine to be critical but just be fair about it.

No bombs here Owen, Couldnt care less if you were a select or ESP stooge, Do whats best for you. I appreciate your comments and assistance, and am just voicing my opinion.

There are multiple differences with both companies, as always some good some bad,

ESP is now in the spotlight (as select was for GIRDS LOL)and i for one am not happy with the lack of info, shit communication, and poor marketing, ( forgetting to tell collectors cards numbered one would not be issued to the public). Have a look at the value of their cards. Disappointing to say the least.

Enough from me for now, and thanks for your replies.

can appreciate your arguments but at my age im probs alot more selfish and couldnt give a shit about the kids + powerplay and the rest ahaha just give me something decent to collect.

also with regards to listening to feedback, they just took on riff's advice yes? they didnt consult anyone else am i right in saying that? and it was for that reason that he got to distribute the parallel case cards at penrith to help promote his business? see thats good initiative and i can appreciate that and i suppose i can be more angry that the idiot ebay pre seller for the lack of information.

but the lies or not living up to things and the manipulating the market price extremely outweigh all their pro's for me anyway.

You all have good points. For me it comes down to the quality and the numbering of the cards and ESP have failed in that area. Card looks and ideas pretty good for the 1st yr

At the end of is there is more than just ESP to card collecting. There are 50 years of cards out the to collect!

People should just enjoy the hobby.

I've only been back collecting for the last two seasons. Elite and dynasty were both excellent! although I found it hard to find a place to buy dynasty (was only new to this site, know better now)
And I'd much rather 2013 traders (with small chance of sigs) than 2012 champions (100% chance of no sig)
Ps not worried when info is released
But will be very dissapointed if number 001's aren't available

My kids loved Traders and Powerplay. Got a bass drum full of spares, and well thumbed binders full of their faves...it was just dad searching for an elusive Young Gun that did me in a bit.

I have to say though, personally, too many sets. And that I couldn't buy the Aussie Rep or GF Roosters sets at a decent price irked me a bit. Pretty much stayed away from both of those.
