I'm gunna put my 2 cents worth in. I personally don't mind either way. If some one is prepared to pay overs then good luck to both parties. I'm sure we've all asked an inflated price for a card at some stage for one reason or another, be it ignorance or ego or other things. Circumstance off the field DOES affect the market and we ALL know that. The fact that Artie died obviously has much more emotion to it, but not many batted an eye lid with all the profiteering on Lockyer's retirement. Take the emotion out and it's exactly the same IMO
At the end of the day it your card Rob and do with it as you wish. I just dont see anyone paying 6 or 7 time what it was worth this time last week and if it sells it will be the most expensive single card EVER sold in Australia.
Hope everything is okay and you dont have to sell off your collection.

There was a time where people would respect someone's passing with quiet dignity ... probably since Princess Diana's death things have changed quite a bit, now it seems like it's a race to cash in. I see RLW is racing to get a magazine out asap.
Your statement could not be any further from the truth - just go read the first few pages of any economics textbook. Even if this card sells for $5000 and the buyer coughs up the money it is still worth no where near what was paid for it.
What we have here is either a moron or a scammer or maybe both. I mean even DK is selling this card for $1200.

Abit off topic but ive never been able to understand why people bid on items they dont want, i mean its just pointless, i sold an ipod awhile back and the first guy didnt pay for it - all it caused was more effort on my end to relist and wait for the auction to pan out again. Worked in my favour though as it sold for a fair bit more the second time around!
More on topic to this thread - if the buyer really wants the card and pays that for it he is abit of a moron (the buyer i mean not rob), but it will be good for Rob. So all the best mate.

Crap............if a buyer wants to pay 5k for this card then that is their business. If Rob wants to sell this card for 5k then that also is his business. I have dealt with Rob on many an occassion and he is not, imho, a moron or a scammer (can't vouch for the bidder). Get off your high horse Owen, you have an over inflated opinion of yourself and your worth to the trading card fraternity.
No Mate, What we have here is peanuts like you with nothing better to do with thier time than rubbish everyone...
It's his card, And if that is what he wants for it... Then that's what he wan't for it.
If he gets it, He gets it...
If it's worth that much to someone that they pay it... Then it's worth that much to them!!
Either way, WTF has it got to do with you?
