Couple of ebay sellers to avoid! Scammer!

At least ebay is covering you one this one which makes me think he has possibly done this before! Surely they can't favor based on just the pictures.

He already had one negative for a card not delivered (which I didn't notice - my bad) - but that didn't mention swapping the item... and someone else told me he had a few claims against him at the moment.
On top of that, I've never filed a claim for item not as described, I'm a decent buyer (they've mentioned that twice), showed them my photobucket as well and had about 5 witnesses here at work when I opened it so I think it's fairly obvious I'm not telling a lie!

This ebay seller sounds like a really awful person and bloody selfish. it sucks to see people like him trying to scam honest people in this hobby like this...people who are willing to shell out a lot of money on cards they really want. it mustve been hell of an anti-climax to open the package n see a carroll poo card there and i feel for u mate. I hope you get ur money back as soon as possible and are able to buy the card from someone else (although...the card u purchased is quite low #'ed).

btw, does anyone agree this guy must be ray/amy long lost brother?

Mother fkers...

Dear Graeme,

Thank you for contacting eBay in regard to item #: 200613750688.

After reviewing your unique case, I see that you recently purchased a Michael Jordan/Lebron James card from the Seller - rondomvp9. As I understand it, you raised the concern that when you received your package, you discovered that the Seller has sent you a $2 Demarre Carroll Crown Royale card instead of the Michael Jordan/Lebron James card. I am sorry to hear that you feel like you have been scammed by your Seller as you saved up a lot of money to purchase this card. I see that the Seller has purchased shipping insurance on this card, but it is only good for domestic shipments and you live in Auckland, New Zealand. I really appreciate you sending in those photos so quickly - Ebay scammed pictures by hairyangryfella - Photobucket. They were very helpful in deciding your particular case. I imagine you are quite anxious to receive your refund as we are dealing with a very expensive basketball card, but I wanted to reassure you that we offer eBay Buyer Protection for these types of scenarios. Please allow me to explain what our options are, and what actions we are taking to get this claim resolved.

I have decided the best solution is to have you return the Demarre Carroll Crown Royale card back to the seller for a full refund. This is because you have provided photos showing exactly what you received, and how it differs from your Seller’s original description. I realize that the Seller has purchased shipping insurance, but you are going to have the card returned anyway, and the insurance is only good for domestic shipments. In order to hold the seller accountable for a full refund, we must ensure that the card you received has been returned back to them first. Please complete these steps in the next 7 days to ensure that you qualify to receive a full refund:

1).Ship the card back to the seller using tracking and signature confirmation (required). This is so we can confirm that the seller has received the Demarre Carroll Crown Royale card back. You can use the shipping company of your choice.

2).The seller’s return address is:

(blanked for privacy, not that he deserves any)

3).Go to the Resolution Center and enter the tracking number from the package.

Resolution Center - eBay

After you enter the tracking information, you will see another page where you will confirm that the tracking information is correct. Be sure to click the “submit” button or we will not receive your information. You must enter the tracking information in order to receive a refund.

Once we have confirmation that the package has been delivered back to the seller we will refund you for $815.00 which includes the original shipping cost, within 3 days. This refund will be returned to your original funding source.

I understand it may cost you additional money to return this package to your seller. I am sorry to say that we cannot cover the full cost of the return shipping. As a courtesy, to help mitigate your returning shipping cost, we will be issuing you a courtesy coupon for $10.00 that can be applied to your next eBay purchase. You will be receiving the coupon code including additional details on how to use the coupon in your eBay messages within the next 7 days.

In summary, please go ahead and return the Demarre Carroll Crown Royale card to the seller using signature confirmation (required) within the next 7 days. Once we are able to verify that it has been successfully delivered back to the seller we will process a refund $815.00 back to your original funding source within 3 days. Please keep in mind if you do not provide us with tracking within 7 days, we will assume you have decided to keep your purchase. Your case will be closed out and you will not receive a refund.

So that's just wonderful. Even though it's obvious he didn't just send me the wrong card by mistake, I have to send back using registered postage (which will cost me $41) to get my money back. HE should have to pay to have it returned, if that's what's required, don't you think??

Sorry to read this mate....I had this happen to me a few years back and knew that this is what PayPal would say, so I just claimed it as item not received and got my full refund about 6 weeks later! Claiming not as described it too complicated :(

Hope you get that refund mate!

I took the loss on a card i had arrive in poor condition as postage would have cost me half what the card cost. In this case be happy to take a $40 beating atleast you're getting most of your $800 back. The best ebay did with me in my case was saying they'd refund me half the postage cost even though i was the one paying for postage in the first place to get my card.

The other thing I'm pissed off about is that what happens when he gets the card back? He can use it in the same situation on someone else? He's not suspended, he's still selling...

Yep it sucks he's not banned or atleast given a suspension. Atleast his name is out there as a mug and people searching can see the issues. Might be worth putting his name in the thread title so google searches pick it up ;)

Look at it this way, it's a $31 course on what to do next time and who not to deal with.

Hhhm, yeah, it still sucks @rse though...

Gotta ask.... why can't you just send it back in a reg. envelope for like $11? I know you're technically not supposed to, but I think that's what most people do.

Damn Graeme, what a depressing tale... coulda gone a lot worse, thankfully it didn't. Very sorry for your loss mate, hopefully karma comes back around for you on your next bust or something :)

Hopefully these scammers start to screw eachother over more, and and leave the good blokes, such as yourself, to enjoy their hobby, as it should be

Update:

Just spent 22 minutes on the phone to ebay... don't think I ever want to call ebay again, very automated and you have to repeat yourself and 22 minutes on an international call... jeepers.

But anyways, they could see that I sent the 'item' back to the seller, it had been attempted to be delivered, but now he has to go and pick it up. They decided that since it now relied on him and I'd done my part, that they would close the case and start issuing me the refund. I'm relieved - I rang them because I didn't know if he'd just not bother going to pick it up and then it would be returned to me and therefore not be delivered, but it has worked out ok now...

Well would you look at that... the card that I bought, was sent a scrub rookie instead of, and was then called a 'lien thief' in his response to my negative feedback, is listed again by that scamming seller... formerly Rondo4MVP9, now 28Vikings11....

2006-07 EXQUISITE Michael Jordan LeBron James Dual Auto | eBay

---------- Post added 30-09-2011 at 02:02 PM ----------

Fk I hate ebay. Can I report this item/member? He cost me money to send back the piece of crap he sent me when trying to scam me. Will ebay let me do that? Of course not.

I don't normally say this, but maybe this scumbag needs some of his items purchased, leave negatives and make him do the run around to get them removed

Actually somebody already did this - someone on HK saw my posts the last time he listed another Jordan/Lebron auto (different set) and hit the BIN then left him a negative that said 'stop scamming people'. It was removed pretty quickly...

I have reported him to ebay twice now, and I think he might have committed insurance fraud (claiming on the card "I stole") so I hope he gets looked into...

I would report it!!!!

It will still show the listing enough for Ebay to see that he is selling the same card again!!!! SONOFFABEEECCHH!!!

This is what I've reported to ebay (though alarmingly when you 'report member' it automatically puts your own ebay id as the person being reported!):

This is a follow up to a message I just sent before. I have screenshots to try to get some justice.

http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy148/hairyangryfella/Ebay scammed/MJLebronscammerpic4.jpg - this is the claim I had where I had to return the rubbish card he sent me (http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy148/hairyangryfella/Ebay scammed/DSC00009.jpg) instead of this Jordan/Lebron Exquisite card

http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy148/hairyangryfella/Ebay scammed/MJLebronscammerpic3.jpg - this is my negative feedback left for him where he replies calling me a 'lien thief'

http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy148/hairyangryfella/Ebay scammed/MJLebronscammer.jpg - this is that same card that he relisted (and then took down after I messaged him saying I had reported him)

http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy148/hairyangryfella/Ebay scammed/MJLebronscammerpic2.jpg - and this is the closeup where you can see it's the same card (#4/10) that I was supposed to have bought.

I wonder if he claimed insurance on the card 'I stole' and if so then he has committed insurance fraud - which I would hope that you would help investigate. All those pictures are in the album I had to supply when I filed my claim - Ebay scammed pictures by hairyangryfella - Photobucket I am still very annoyed I had to suffer the high expense of sending back his piece of rubbish to get my money back - it cost me approx $38US just to do so. And he is a scammer, who should be banned - especially if he has committed insurance fraud.
