rondo4mvp9 - sent me a Demarre Carroll Crown Royale RC auto instead of this $800 Jordan/Lebron -
06-07 Exquisite Michael Jordan Lebron James Auto # 4/10 | eBay

He had already given me the run-around by saying he'd addressed the first package wrong and it had been returned to him (though only when I asked where it was) and then he said he'd sent this, only to sent me something bogus. I knew I should have filmed me opening it but my battery was low. I did take some pics though.

Update - immediately after me opening the case and sending him a message he replied asking what I was talking about. Now, not long after opening the case I get a message "The seller asked us to review this case and make a final decision" - is that good or bad? I'm thinking bad because it doesn't give me time to provide more details/photos...

The other is hoop-style.

I was looking at some of his 'game-worn' items and asked him a few questions about them. He got quite aggressive because he didn't like the questions and I should just be able to trust him because of his reputation etc etc.
Um, yeah...
So anyway, I found this that I was looking at buying:
Aaron Gray 2010 St. Pat's Day Game Worn Bulls Jersey | eBay

And asked him for the meigray number and he came back aggressive again. Of course by then I'd found out that Gray had been traded to New Orleans well before St Pat's day, so how can this be GAME WORN.
Yet you're supposed to trust him because he says so...

With the first one I'd say you need to make contact asap, I've never had a dealing like before so that's not much else I can say.

Thank you for the heads up though.

Damn G that first one is not good, i always film any package these days just to be sure as there is too many of these SOBs out there. Hope you can sort it out quickly

If the seller proves he sent you a package, Paypal seems to side with the seller. Sorry to say, hope it works out for you mate, scum like that ruins the hobby for everyone! Keep an eye on eBay to see if the same card pops up again.

He responded to my negative feedback... however the package has a label on it saying "Insured mail - domestic only" (which is why his tracking number was bogus) and this doesn't seem to be the first time he's done it. Damn my low battery and excitement levels, otherwise I would have filmed it because I just had a feeling about this bozo.
He didn't even sign the customs form... spent $39.85 on postage too. Guess that's a decent tradeoff - $800 for $39.85 and a crappy RC...

You should've placed an item not received claim if there was no tracking number!

Well there was... and I don't know if he could have gotten around that. But ultimately the item is not as described and that's what I have filed. Guy seems to know what he's doing though, suggesting he is definitely a scambag (see what I did there... ;))

Sorry to hear to bad news G. Hope it all works out in your favor once its all sorted out. That's why it is always better to buy from your local hobby shop. No chance of that ever happening or waiting for the mail to arrive ;)

Haha I haven't had a local hobby shop for... let's see, I'm almost 29, so that'd be... 14 years...?
Perth isn't exactly in my neighbourhood... :P

Dear Graeme,

Thank you for contacting eBay in regard to item #: 200613750688.

After reviewing your unique case, I see that you recently purchased a Michael Jordan/Lebron James card from the Seller - rondomvp9. As I understand it, you raised the concern that when you received your package, you discovered that the Seller has sent you a $2 Demarre Carroll Crown Royale card instead of the Michael Jordan/Lebron James card. I am sorry to hear that you feel like you have been scammed by your Seller as you saved up a lot of money to purchase this card. I see that the Seller has purchased shipping insurance on this card, but it is only good for domestic shipments and you live in Auckland, New Zealand. I really appreciate you sending in those photos so quickly - Ebay scammed pictures by hairyangryfella - Photobucket. They were very helpful in deciding your particular case. I imagine you are quite anxious to receive your refund as we are dealing with a very expensive basketball card, but I wanted to reassure you that we offer eBay Buyer Protection for these types of scenarios. Please allow me to explain what our options are, and what actions we are taking to get this claim resolved.

I have decided the best solution is to have you return the Demarre Carroll Crown Royale card back to the seller for a full refund. This is because you have provided photos showing exactly what you received, and how it differs from your Seller’s original description. I realize that the Seller has purchased shipping insurance, but you are going to have the card returned anyway, and the insurance is only good for domestic shipments. In order to hold the seller accountable for a full refund, we must ensure that the card you received has been returned back to them first. Please complete these steps in the next 7 days to ensure that you qualify to receive a full refund:

1).Ship the card back to the seller using tracking and signature confirmation (required). This is so we can confirm that the seller has received the Demarre Carroll Crown Royale card back. You can use the shipping company of your choice.

2).The seller’s return address is:

(blanked for privacy, not that he deserves any)

3).Go to the Resolution Center and enter the tracking number from the package.

Resolution Center - eBay

After you enter the tracking information, you will see another page where you will confirm that the tracking information is correct. Be sure to click the “submit” button or we will not receive your information. You must enter the tracking information in order to receive a refund.

Once we have confirmation that the package has been delivered back to the seller we will refund you for $815.00 which includes the original shipping cost, within 3 days. This refund will be returned to your original funding source.

I understand it may cost you additional money to return this package to your seller. I am sorry to say that we cannot cover the full cost of the return shipping. As a courtesy, to help mitigate your returning shipping cost, we will be issuing you a courtesy coupon for $10.00 that can be applied to your next eBay purchase. You will be receiving the coupon code including additional details on how to use the coupon in your eBay messages within the next 7 days.

In summary, please go ahead and return the Demarre Carroll Crown Royale card to the seller using signature confirmation (required) within the next 7 days. Once we are able to verify that it has been successfully delivered back to the seller we will process a refund $815.00 back to your original funding source within 3 days. Please keep in mind if you do not provide us with tracking within 7 days, we will assume you have decided to keep your purchase. Your case will be closed out and you will not receive a refund.

So that's just wonderful. Even though it's obvious he didn't just send me the wrong card by mistake, I have to send back using registered postage (which will cost me $41) to get my money back. HE should have to pay to have it returned, if that's what's required, don't you think??

Really sucks man, but at least you'll get most of your money back, gotta be upbeat about that!!

I should already though, without having to spend $41 just to send his piece of crap back. I have perfect feedback and showed them photos of what he had done. He has also had other claims against him. They should have just given me my money back, but now I have to PROVE that he gets it back and at my expense! It should either be at his or at theirs!

Yes, I am happy I'm getting my money back when this is done, but this whole experience will have ended up costing me $30 and a lot of grief, just for purchasing an item on ebay. Why bother with that site anymore, it's just full of scammers and rip offs

this kind of stuff really annoys me and makes me think twice about purchasing cards off ebay, plus it's not good for the hobby, though try to look on the bright side, $30 down is better then $815 down and stuck with a DeMare Carrol RC Auto

smear the toploader in dog ****, atleast you'll get something out of the $41 it costs you to return the card

At least ebay is covering you one this one which makes me think he has possibly done this before! Surely they can't favor based on just the pictures.
