Cherry and OzCardTrader present "Oz Group Breaks"

thanks man, saw it as well.but coudnt find break #4 for reason..wanted to check what top team is still available :D

No one can honestly complain about not getting the perceived 'good' teams.

Oz Group Breaks has no obligation to announce breaks to be released at a specific time or at a time preferential to specific users.
The same as any other break site, first come = first served.

Some individuals, like myself that work 75% of their day at a computer have the luxury of checking OCT/Blowout/Mojo/K2/DACW etc. all day long to pounce on group breaks as soon as they are listed.

Be thankful that OGB has instigated a purchase limit on the top 4 teams to circumvent hoarding of the top teams.
( otherwise Ang & Parra would have had every one of them :) )

In saying that, Yes I can agree it would be frustrating for people to get home from work and find your favorite team has been taken in yet another group break.

In search of a solution, perhaps a trial of the following could be undertaken;
When a break is listed, individuals can place 'interest' in purchasing a team or any number of teams. Then the people that placed 'interest' can be randomed on random.org and the list placed in the thread of the break.
Starting from the top, that person has a 24hr window to pay for the team. If they fail to make the payment, the spot is open for the next person for a 24hr window.. etc.

Again, for simplicity, OGB would have no obligation to record or post the randoming of the lists.

I'll say it once again....2 of the top 4 teams have been sitting there for 4 days now...NOT SOLD!!!
Sorry Ben but I still believe that first in, best dressed......randomising interest in a team....sounds like a lot of work for someone for something so simple.

Thanks @Billyhoyle

@M4YH3M1 love the ideas, @angpin is right though it's about making them affordable to run! The cost is in time!

I really like our current formats! I'm so excited by the buy in from the OZCT audience and I'm hoping we can convert some internationals shortly given we are being very aggressive on pricing!

We have earmarked the next few breaks and will list one shortly.

You are referring to only one break Ang. This was definately not the case for Flawless.

Yeah, as I stated, I can agree with the first in, best dressed. Thats life. Tried and true.

The suggestion I put forth above is not a huge amount of work, but time consuming nonetheless.
I was only suggesting a way to appease all.

If the same bunch of individuals always get the big name teams, people will begin to shy away from OG Breaks.
This will force people to buy into overseas breaks, which is not beneficial for OGB.
Surely G would like that money spent with Cherry & OGB

One thing I would prefer is, if all the breaks were 'pay as you go'.

I know its hard to please everyone but I don't mind giving a 'fair go' to those that do not have access to the net at those times when OGB lists breaks.

PAYG/ I mean, buying straight from your site, not listing a team break and allowing people to post the team names that they want to 'hold'.

Ben,
I'm not just referring to one break, Have a look at the Immaculate case break #2, I waited 48 hours before buying another 2 of the top 4 teams as no-one stepped up to buy them. And the same would've happened with Flawless if people like myself, Parra and others didn't buy a shitload of teams.
Here's what I'm going to do...I'm not buying a single team in Immaculate case #4 and we'll see how long it takes to sell or if G has to discount to sell out.
However I'd like to point out that it's not my fault that I have the time to be on OZCT to buy the teams and the money to do so!!!

I think you are taking this too personal Angelo. I was simply trying to find a solution to a concern initially raised by ERSK.
His sentiments are possibly echoed by a few other OCT members that may not neccessarily wish to voice their opinion.

You are right, there are probably only 5-6 big spenders here on OCT, financially able to outlay the costs of top teams of Flawless and Immaculate for each and every break OGB runs.

For the record, I don't take any issue with how things are run by OGB and I'll re-iterate my thoughts above;

first in, best dressed. Thats life. Tried and true.

Ben I answered Ersk and I've answered you also. Yes I'm taking it personal because you keep mentioning my name........work out a solution without mentioning my name and I won't take it personal, simple!
And If you don't have an issue with how things are run on OGB why are you looking for a solution.....to what??
And at the end of the day it's my money and I'll spend it how I choose to, or not!!!

Is there even a checklist out for Immaculate yet?? How do you know which teams are the "top teams"?? It looks like the big chase hits and guaranteed box hits are all RAPs, so why would OKC and Portland be considered top teams??

Let's go right to the beginning of this saga..

Let's revisit Flawless Break #1.
Angelo, you had 6 teams before we hit page 2 of the thread.

Then this post appeared;
hey G,

just a thought. maybe next time you can limit peoples spots to 1 or 2 for the first 48hrs.
only just saw this and all the teams I would be interested in are long gone. :((

To which 6 people 'liked'

Then:
I happen to agree, limit 1 team per person in the first 48 hours is a great idea!
Funny considering Parra purchased Pelicans/Bulls 6 posts earlier. :lol: plus another two on that same page :rofl:

Then;
Be good if those people who got in top 5 teams weren't able to get them in the next break too

Hence the '1 top tier team in 48hrs' rule came about, created to assist the 9 to 5ers to have a chance at the few elite teams when they eventually get back home and online.

So please, correct me if I am wrong, but from where I'm looking at it;
because of people being upset about missing out on their favorite team - Grayson had to immediately place a caveat to keep people from buying up all the popular teams and ruining not just the Flawless party, but every team based group break that OGB's has listed.

*********************
Why I've had to go to this trouble, I'll never know.

I don't give a flying duck how you spend your money, which I've indirectly insinuated in my last 3 posts.

I've done nothing but try to offer solutions to concerns raised by other members in the effort of making all parties happy on a fair playing field. Now, I'm over it.

Ben,
You're still carrying on about Flawless case #1, there's been 6 other Oz Group Breaks listed after that.......what point are you trying to make please, because you've lost me. Get over it....buy some teams as there's still (5 days on) 2 of the 4 top teams NOT SOLD!

If I knew that the Mods allowing us to FINALLY have group breaks on OCT would have caused this much arguing and debate........

I would have pushed for it a long time ago!! :lol: Thanks for the entertainment fellas! :thumbsup:

BTW - @cherrycollectables
I see 1 simple solution to this..... seeing as you will NEVER be able to please EVERYONE..... why don't you offer some 'random team' group breaks??? Where every spot costs the same?? And everyone has a shot at the better teams!

@angpin if the Cavs was one of the 2 "Top Teams" left, would you still be leaving it for someone else?? I doubt it. It is because Immaculate is a Rookie orientated product and the Cavs is the number 1 team to get. Portland and OKC would/should not have been the same price as Cavs/Pelicans IMO (not sure if they were or not??)

@drob50 FYI I could've bought the Cavs because I spotted the Case Break when it was first released but didn't, to give others a chance to do so, as you can see I have bought ZERO teams in the break....and that's how it'll stay...however I appreciate your concern. :thumbsup:

I wouldn't call it concern, so much as trying to work out if you know more about the checklist than I do :lol:
