Well I have finally got together all my bits n pieces to put this thread to bed from my perspective.

To further cement my thoughts, I purchased one of the "suspect" cards from ebay,... from Tim... or his so called brother. Some facts for you all.....

1. Tim advised after auction ending that the cards were not signed in person, but bought from ozauctions earlier in the year.... also gave me a get out of purchase clause if I wanted to.

2. Asked if I could pay via money order... answered yes..... money order to be made out to Tim ???? What ever happended to the brother ?? VERY obvious that he used his brother as a "S%@#" Ive been busted here card and tried to lie his away around this all.

3. Card arrived to me with return name and address on back of envelope of Tim....

4. Scan is attached of Tims card as well as a card recently returned to me directly from David Boon.

5. Tims card, complete with all his contact details and transcript of all events has been sent to David Boon and I have asked him to log this with Cricket Australia as well.

Summary and warning to all

If you are here to make a quick buck out of forgeries, I will continue to name and shame you, as well as provide your details to the person whom you are forging. Keeping my beloved hobby free of these "ants" makes it fun and fair for everyone.

Terrible! Check the seller too, he only just changed his name today, and has rejoined with another id here too! Didn't know you could have 2 ozcard ids?! Could maybe understand if he was selling them off after buying them off someone else but he states in the listing All my handsigned cards were signed in person or in view of a trusted friend.[-X

I think its time we start our own "name and shame" board OCT friends and fellow collectors.

Three really good reasons why....

1. "The Bay"
"The bay" refuse to do anything about it as it is revenue for them. They simply come back with a comment that if you are in doubt, don't bid on it ! I would have written to them at least 10 times over the last 5 years in regards to suspect signatures and everytime get the same response.

2. Safety in numbers !
If in doubt, post it to the board and let your trusted OCT members give there trusted opinions. I stress they are opinions and I am sure that on ocassion even the "fussiest" of collectors have been scratching there heads if not caught out !

3. Keep collecting fun !
Try and get rid of some of the cowboys so that our love of collecting is kept honest and most importantly fun. The thought of a 12 yr old saving up their $20 to buy a suspect "Ricky Ponting" signature gets me really pi**ed off. There are "dodgy" collectors in this world but the fewer we have in our hobby/love the better for all !

Maybe we should set up a trusted seller board as well ???

When buying autos you ahve to be confident....should only need 1 red flag to say no....

Those sigs are a DISGRACE!!!!

He should be ashamed of himself - nothing sh!ts me more in this hobby than people passing off sigs as fakes, and these ones are as amateur and pathetic as I have ever seen. Lillee and Border sigs are like a 4 year old did them.

Pretty bad when you are in the business at making fakes let alone being so bad at them that they are almost funny - but not funny to the poor people (probably young kids) who think they are getting the real thing.

I am really p!ssed about this - i thought this bloke was a decent member of this cricket card community??? Turns out he is nothing but a lying scumbag and a fraud!

Will look forward to hearing from Dan about this as he seems to know "Tim" fairly well...

Thanks Brad! i have contacted Tim to hear his side of the story! I will with-hold any comment until he has replied! Needless to say we are a small community that is based on trust and if that trust is broken, to make a quick buck, then it obviously weakens our community!
