Yeah Ryan, it is a really open race, and i've picked about 15 horses that i think could win without suprising, and with the rain it just makes things even more confusing. Rather then going around in circles trying to find a winner, i might just back a couple of horses at good odds. I was really keen on 'Master O'Reilly' and 'Zipping' but their odds are probably going to be too short, so at the moment i'm probably leaning towards 'Princess Coup' and 'Gallic' at odds of around 18/1. The Melbourne Cup is the 1st Leg of the Quaddie so i might load up with 15 horses in the 1st Leg of my Flexi-Quaddie.
Good luck to anyone having a bet on the Cup.
After looking at the form guide, I'm now thinking of putting on a Flexi-trifecta with the following horses:
Mahler
Purple Moon
Master O'reilly
Sirmione
Zipping
Efficient
Blue Monday
Douro Valley
Any thoughts on other horses I should include, or horses I have that I should sack, before I put it on?

.Any idea why Vlad Duric hasn't been in any races today? I've been watching Damien Oliver's progress, and was hoping to get a handle on Duric's day, but he hasn't been in anything yet...

It looks like Purple Moon and Master O'Reilly could start equal favourites at around $4.50-$5.00. Both horses have a great chance but their odds are way too short for me.

Tell ya what, if I run into master O'reilly on the street, I'm gonna neuter the bastard! lol... The damn horse cost me 2 trifectas, and $50 each-way! BOOOOOO!!! Got around $50 back from Purple Moons second, but that didn't cover costs by a long shot....
Well, Master O'Reilly is actually a Gelding so he has already been neutered
. I know how you feel though, as i just missed out on winning the Quaddie. I had 'Efficient', 'Flash Trick', and 'Skarkbite' in the first 3 Legs of my Quaddie, but my Horse in the Last Leg 'Aztec Smytzer' finished 3rd. If 'Aztec Smytzer' had of won, the Quaddie would have paid over $10,000, DOH!!!! Ah well, there's always next week i guess. I did have a big win bet on 'Flash Trick' in Race 8 so it wasn't a total loss. Is anyone going to have a bet at Oaks Day today?
