How good was Gayles innings tonight? But better than that, the interview with Mel McLaughlin after his knock, Gayle I think in humour dropped a few cheesey comments to her , but her face...far out if looks could kill Gayle would be a can of chum. I hope someone recorded the match and puts it on YouTube coz she must have been close to knocking him out.
Absolute classic television. In case anyone is gonna try the "oh but it's disrespectful to find that funny" I actually think she's a good commentator and have zero issue with her being a presenter and can sympathize that she probably felt he was being an absolute a hole. But the contrast in his goofy smiles and cheesey lines and her deathstare was effing priceless.

It doesn't matter what we think of it, it matters what Mel thought of it. It is a rarity to see women - even in this day and age - host coverage of a male sport and Chris Gayle came off as a creepy, tasteless imbecile. Thankfully he apologised at the end!
 
He had to as because in fun or otherwise he came off creepy as you said. I still wish she punched him. She did everything from her end and carried herself very professionally
 
I thought it was pretty bloody funny. The world has gone mad when that sort of stuff gets taken as anything other than what it was, a bit of a joke. And before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm not a sexist. But do think political correctness is out of control these days.

I'm with you there but also see Mattys point. Hence my disclaimer in my initial post.
I found it funny as i was just like "what a d!ckhead" and her look was one that was not to be taken lighlty. Again she showed how professional she is, but it made me giggle none the less.
 
Yeah I agree. Probably not the place for it but take it for what it was, a bit of light humour. Made me laugh anyway.
 
Far out, talk about a storm in a tea cup. Media/social media has gone bonkers on this.
Channel 10 exec has stated Gayle will not be mic'd up or helmet cammed unless he apologizes (again?) Well they will make it so he does as beside Dan Christian and KP nobody else is gonna give you better helmet cam footage for your ratings. Keyboard warriors are on fire too. Over the top reactions from both view points are mind boggling.
I am sure Chris Gayle feels like a knob right now (as he should getting owned on tele by the more professional person) and I am sure Mel probably feels this has been blown out of proportion too. Look forward to her view/comments and a genuine apology / explanation from CG to get this over and done with.
 
I read a comment last night on facebook, so it's ok for channel 10 to flog the hell out of these cringe worthy ads for I'm a celebrity got me out of here, with that Julia Morris carrying on like a teenage girl over that Vets body, but not ok for Gayle to have a bit of a joke with an attractive commentator? Seems like massive double standards to me.

Agree 100%. That Julia Morris is far creepier with the vet but it's accepted ...why? She's a comedian and nobody takes her seriously yet all of a sudden CG is taken waaay too seriously. Yes Mel is a professional as is DR Chris Brown so i think this is a top comparison
