I'd settle for the hallmark of any good series (think, 1996 & 2005)....rare, very rare, and bloody-hell-how-long-is-it-gonna-take-to-get-a-hold-of-that-one.
Guernseys card are...and this is strictly my own view...completely naff. It's no better than getting a bit of what might have been part of the Berlin wall but in all likelihood something lifted off a building site in Preston. Whose jumper? What game? I mean, really!? Yay, it's Collingwood and....oh, bugger me...it's the Emirates logo. Or worse, the AFL logo.
Are we not due for a hall of fame update?
And if we start taking cues from the NBA, like the rules committee, I think I'll vomit
I put In my ideas of rare cards for one reason: the excitement of breaking packs, and finding you've got a rare card in them!If there's one thing I don't want, it's cards limited to 1 or even anything less than 50. I think there was an NRL release maybe last year which had a special 1 of 1 card. It redeemed a framed jumper and a signature card IIRC. From what I read many team collectors just stopped collecting due to their inability to complete the set for their team.
I think the Honour Roll cards from last year's Honours 2 was just about perfect: very rare but you're not waiting months for them to appear. Everyone likes rare cards, but don't kill off all us team colectors!
Sure. I get why you think they'd be a nice addition to a set. But you can find one good reason for anything without looking at the other side. If for something the cons outweigh the the pros (as they did in that NRL release) then surely you don't do it?I put In my ideas of rare cards for one reason: the excitement of breaking packs, and finding you've got a rare card in them!
