2014 Select Series 2

The less wanggy has to do with select the better for everyone!

Too true Adam. Think about it. There is only one person holding all the Select stock and that is Wang/Cardzone. What do you do if you would like to buy a box? You deal with him at ridiculous prices, prices that can be changed on a whim.

More distributors, more competition, better pricing. Not to mention easier availability of stock nationwide. No brainer to find other partnerships.

I thought you could buy boxes or cases from Select direct....

Having a monopoly is never a good thing, select have no competition so they can release any crap they want and you either take it or spend your money elsewhere, same thing with cardzone/jhl having a conflict being a distributor and retailer, cardzone is one of the few places you can get select series 2 and thus they can mark up the cards as much as they want, I wont be buying select this year and will be looking to get in on some of the new NRL stuff which is being released shortly.

Don't know about cases but on the Select site there are options to buy boxes. Not sure how long they last as they do sell out. Doesn't change the fact that as the sole distributor, Cardzone through JHL have control of most of the supply.

FWIW last year's NRL Elite had pretty bad collation. Great if you got one of the boxes with the 2 sigs, pretty flat if you got one of the others with none.

Even this year if they do the collation right it probably won't be a sig per box, more 2:3 boxes with the other being a Australian Rep card parallel limited to 80.

So it has its pros and cons

You need to ring them for cases & get in early as they only have limited stock. The bulk goes to Wangy (maybe the 200 cases they held back from JHL was for there sales, just a thought)

But you have been going on about a monopoly being a bad thing. Make up your mind. So a monopoly is OK if they listen to the collectors and put number 1 sigs in the packs.

Spot on! They are holding stock back for direct sales from Select :)
