2014 Select Series 2

I guess my case that I ordered will be cancelled aswell, I bet wangy will regret saying what he said on here looks like he has just lost his monopoly

I'm the same I will find out Tommorow if I get mine or not when my dealer rings up to see how much he can get, I wonder if they are going to start showing up in newsagents and other places again

It's an absolute disgrace to the collecting community that they're not in newsagents like the mid 90's. This is what got me into collecting. Champions just don't cut it.
I know the target audience is kids for champions, but I sure as hell knew what a signature card was in 1990 and have craved it ever since.
Having to go out of my way to find a pack of Select series 2 at literally 1 or 2 locations within SA (actually 1, SPCWD) - is something Select should be concerned about.

Get new collectors in and make the catchment of your future collectors wider

Couldn't agree more I started back in 1994 and only had to walk into my local milkbar to get a pack and it was great, I live in ballarat and the only place you can buy series 2 is the AFL store and they don't get much so sells out quick

The 2014 Select AFL Series 2 will be released around Mid July.
We will only send out the flyers, order form to those existing dealers who have dealed with the AFL cards from end Feb to now. The upcoming popular limited edition of 2014 AFL series 2 cards will be allocated within these retailers based on their purchase volume of AFL champions cards.
We will send out all the information at the date scheduled that will give 3-4 weeks leading time.

Dear All Hobby dealers:
It has brought to our attention that some retailers using AFL Series 2 or AFL Future Force as a condition to push the AFL Champions sales. Please note the following:
1.JHL Marketing has never indicated such a policy. We will take the sale quantity of AFL champions into consideration only when the quantity of limited release can not meet the demand. It is obvious that a dealer carrying more AFL champions cards during the season implied a larger customers base and should be rewarded with appropriate quantity of limited release.
2. Please be aware that there is no fixed allocation ratio of AFL Champions to the AFL series 2 or future force.
3. JHL MARKETING has no interest in forcing the Champions sales based on the condition of AFL series 2 or AFL Future Force. All retailers who carry AFL Champions should only base their selling capacity to place the AFL Champions order.
4. As it has been always the case in the past, JHL Marketing has a clear policy--: YOU ONLY ORDER WHAT YOU NEED AND WE ONLY SUPPLY WHAT YOU NEED.
5. AFL Champions is a very popular products on its own. The continuing increase in the quantity of AFL Champions is the reflection of collectors' market demand as a whole although it won't please everybody.


Even if it is limiting the wholesale prices it just means he is saving more boxes for himself to sell and less for the other retailers out there, that is the way I see it.

I can concur with this statement I was told about 2 years ago by JHL - Steve Wang that I could only get Series 2 if I purchased a couple of thousand $ worth of Series 1 champions cards well actually minimum order of $3500 worth to be exact. I do not have the capacity or the collectors who wanted several thousand $ worth of series 1 so never went any further yet have at least 30-50 messages each year if I will be stocking Series 2. @Production I am happy to forward e-mails regarding this as well.

Select and myself have lost out being able to supply South Australian collectors who did not want to purchase from the other 1-2 dealers based in SA. If I could e-mail you @Production that would be great.

Looks like things are about to change mate, depending on who select are selling to now you might be able to get it, looks like wangy might have shot himself in the foot this time

Yeah here's hoping as everyone is affected not just me, collectors, kids who used to come and ask me week in and week out if I sold packs etc.

Well maybe if he didn't try and monopolise the AFL card industry this would not have happened. I know of several people who have emailed Select to air their concerns and they are taking this matter seriously.

Not saying the 200 case thing is a result of our emails but it could have........

Brett - email Select including the emails you got, they WILL respond and push your complaint up to the right people.

I was of the opinion that Select set up the deal with JHL a number of years ago. Pretty sure they were more than happy to let their distributor have a monopoly. After all, they have one them selves with the AFL. That is where you should all be pushing for change. Lets just hope the new distributor that has the other 200 cases is a fair person. Or even better. Select keep them all to sell on their site for retail only. Then there will be plenty to get all year round.
