2013 ESP Elite NRL Cards Thread (Updated 5/8/13)

He has you on a technically there Mark. There was a sell sheet released pretty late in the piece for traders with the correct information.

Not really a technicality, just waiting for confirmation rather than listening to all the rumours and getting caught out by them.

There were rumours swirling round all over the place about Traders ... ESP of course have to take the blame for giving out misinformed info, but it was pretty clear it was worth waiting until there was a proper source like the sell sheet to get the full story on the set. I'm confident that the sell sheet for Elite is reliable.

Not sure if anyone confirmed or not but Terry got back to me today and the parallel cards are 1 per pack.
They doing parallel cards again? Hopefully they will at least be different pictures this time. I'd be happy without them altogether but ill still be getting a Raiders set :D

Yep Parallels again at least with 1 a pack you will make a set out of the case......:)

Soooo on the Elite topic, anyone doing case shares?

No Uncle Justin..................

love how george saw this straight away...

nah not justin either, lil dylstar used to be active on the site, think he still lurks without posting as he messages me if i have slater ip's that he wants. anyhow he has a massive slater pc.

As card collectors we can't get our heads around some players being blase about signing cards. Taking off my collectors cap for a mo, I'd reckon it would be a privilege for these blokes, younger guys in particular, to have a specific signature card. But it seems like with most things these days, a lot of 'em see it as a chore. With the Green sig, I wonder if he'll see those cards in the future and think, "Hmmm, coulda been better". Or his mates might say "Dude, it's just a squiggle"!!

Boxes look like great value for money!!! This is one exciting release!

I've crunched the numbers on a case of the Elite release & it's not as good as everyone thinks.....

future star, League sensation or Fast Furious Gold = 1 in 3 boxes
Fast & Furious standard = 1 per box

Australian Reps = 2 per box
Triple Threats = 4 per box
Parrallel cards = 24 per box

Common set = none only 184 common cards per box

Depending on how they insert the Signature cards into boxes in case lots is eihter 6 good boxes with a high end hit & 4 no value for money boxes or worst ... If 2 signatures in 1 box that 3 high end hits & 7 no value for money boxes

No value for money boxes will have only
Fast & Furious standard = 1 per box
Australian Reps = 2 per box
Triple Threats = 4 per box
Parrallel cards = 24 per box

184 common cards

Also worked out if you are lucky & you get all the signatures in different cases with no doubles you will need to buy minimum of 7 cases to complete a master set. As per every release from ESP so far it would be much cheaper to buy the cards you want on Ozcard or Ebay.

Still in saying all that I think this is the best release ESP have done to date & hope they improve from here & start producing value for money releases in the future for all us collectors...

You seem to be looking at it quite differently to me. I see it as every single box will have either a League Sensations Sig, Future Star Sig or Fast Furious Gold card.

I thought it was a 144 card base set so 185 base cards in a box seems to make up a set quite easily.

Yeah but when you are talking a 1/100 or 1/130 signature or gold card 1 in each box on average - not really that bad when it comes to value.

Usually pay $500 for a 1/100 signature card in previous sets as they usually 1/case.

So fact that they will be worth somewhere around $100 mark give or take - doesn't make value of boxes too bad if you ask me.
