2013 ESP Elite NRL Cards Thread (Updated 5/8/13)

So is there an official word on the entire set yet or are we waiting for checklist

Digeze said its 422 card set with parralells (So thats 9 players per team base set)

Tak35bne said no parallel (So thats 18 players per team base set if 422 card set)

We are all just guessing till the checklist hits us at 4pm with Matt............the hype is good...........I might turn the PC off and go for a nanna nap and come back at 5pm.......:)

So if the 18 man representative insert set is the 18 players in the lineup for last years test against NZ and not this years then some players are at differant teams now, e.g.: Dave taylor was at souths when picked for australia last year but at Titans now so therefore would you collect his card in the titans set due to him being there in 2013 or the souths set cause he was technically a souths player in 2012?
If its last years team it would be as follows

Billy Slater (Melbourne Storm)
Darius Boyd (Newcastle Knights)
Greg Inglis (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
Justin Hodges (Brisbane Broncos)
Akuila Uate (Newcastle Knights)
Johnathan Thurston (North Queensland Cowboys)
Cooper Cronk (Melbourne Storm)
Paul Gallen (vc) (Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks)
Cameron Smith (c) (Melbourne Storm)
David Shillington (Canberra Raiders)
David Taylor (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
Sam Thaiday (Brisbane Broncos)
Luke Lewis (Penrith Panthers)
Daly Cherry-Evans (Manly Warringah Sea Eagles)
Ben Hannant (Brisbane Broncos)
James Tamou (North Queensland Cowboys)
Anthony Watmough (Manly Warringah Sea Eagles)
Matt Gillett (Brisbane Broncos) (18th man)

Just in from ESP..................No checklist available at this time

One exciting addition to this release we are keen to bring to collectors attention is the addition of an NRL approved individually numbered hologram security authentication device which will be applied to the back of each signature card in the release. All signatures cards will also carry the following statement in fine print along the back bottom edge of the card “ESP Merchandise Pty. Ltd. warrants that this is an authentic hand signed card by (players name to be inserted) and verified by ESP Merchandise Pty. Ltd. and the NRL.” The reason for this joint approach is twofold; firstly the protection of player IP namely the signature and the player image is paramount to the future credibility of the official NRL trading card program, not to mention the wider official memorabilia business. Secondly the protection of the investment collectors and the general public make when buying NRL trading cards can now be safe-guarded from counterfeiting and other such unscrupulous activates that go on from time to time, which if left un-checked could potentially damage the integrity of the program going forward.

As outlined about each hologram device is unique to each card - these devices are permanent and should not be removed or the card will be damaged and the device will be void!! Future signature (or memorabilia) cards will all carry this devise. The design and placement of the devise may vary from time to time - the underlying aim is to protect the investment made in Trading Cards and to protect their ever increasing value of high profile player IP. We hope you see value in this important addition to the signature cards.

The set will include both common and parallel cards as well as 6 prized insert sets, the full set will total 422 Cards.

So yes both common and parallel so 9 common and 9 parallel. Still curious on the representative if its the list i put up or not and if the confusion over 2012 / 2013 is cleared up

And if going by the ratios then its assuming

Each box will include

1x (Either future star, League sensation or Fast Furious Gold)
1x Fast & Furious standard

2x Australian Reps
4x Triple Threats

@$6.00 a pack each box will retail around $144

So if the ratios are correct then your looking at getting all of that for the $144 investment.

True. Even a sig of a top player numbered out of 130 in every three boxes is pretty impressive.

Boxes look like great value for money!!! This is one exciting release!

Exactly, Chasing a team set might not be as expensive as first thought, working out the value for money and taking out the value of other inserts besides a signature your paying around $100 for either a signature card or Fast and furious gold, so assuming certain players will fetch a higher price Box busting here will be the way to go, chance of cracking a more popular player to fetch a higher prize to sell or trade for the lesser known player if thats whats needed for a team set. Re-sellers will be happy and team collectors will be happy.

Starting to think ESP got there gear together and this release will be a great one!

One more question still sits on my mind with No predictors etc are we going to get another release around september? or is this the final release for the year :P

The one time I'm grateful that the Knights and all their players suck so much!

There is apparently another set coming after this one in 2013.

haha yeah everything is assumptions at this stage but im guessing the titans wont be the more popular either the fast and furious is a speedster and a forward kind of player so id call titans will be Gordon & Bailey or something along those lines. Sigs will be nothing super special maybe Myles, Idris, Harrison. and then a rookie maybe anthony don. Dont think we have any test cards as no titans in aussie team in 2012 except taylor who played for the bunnies at the time so dunno if he classifies to my titans set or not :p

If all of this assuming is going to script then this will make 66 total Titans cards for 2013 (Over the 3 releases so far traders, elite & Powerplay) and if there is a 4th release at the end of the year should top over 80 cards for the year. Over the years since 2007 when titans cards begun the largest year release was 2012 with 85 cards so continuing the trend im not complaining, even when i complete the set of all titans cards up to date chasing 80 cards a year will keep me more than busy enough i would think.
