2013 ESP Elite NRL Cards Thread (Updated 5/8/13)

As Tak said, I tried (despite an assurance in a few emails it would be released today) but Terry said they are holding it back for the Penrith show which is understandable.

Overall I like the work that's been put into this release...seems a lot more value and a lot more cards to collect. Given that each team has a Superstar Signature this could be one of the better releases I can think of!

Yep, I'm struggling to think of a better release, tbh.

Still not totally sold on the look of the base set. Hope the parallels have different photos on them. And I hope it's more than a nine card base set per team.

All pretty minor quibbles. Well done ESP!!!

Given that this release has no redemption's or say a super high end card out of 40 / 50, I think that if there is a further higher end release towards the end of the season we could see something special. A premium pack release maybe a 32 card base set, Jersey Cards, Redemption's for balls, jerseys.........now that would be something nice to see.

So if the 18 man representative insert set is the 18 players in the lineup for last years test against NZ and not this years then some players are at differant teams now, e.g.: Dave taylor was at souths when picked for australia last year but at Titans now so therefore would you collect his card in the titans set due to him being there in 2013 or the souths set cause he was technically a souths player in 2012?
If its last years team it would be as follows

I am a bit disappointed in a parallel set, its like two base sets really, assuming they use the same photo. Also hope the case cards come better packed than Traders.....

Oh yeh........not one for the feint at heart for sure but what a direction to take really high end NRL cards in. 50 dollars a pack, 5 or 6 cards a pack but all top shelf stuff.

OR - What if we see a super high end release with a box containing one encapsulated card............possibilities are endless.

ESP have been talking about a high end release for the end of this year for awhile now, hopefully it does eventuate.

So there's a new hologram on the back of each card and rumors of a high end exquisite release at the end of the year, not copying Upper Deck much hey

Still...I'll be happy to see that (the hologram) on the cards. Very excited by this release.

For the Raiders I would love to see Milford on the Future Star given he started the year in 20's but I reckon it might be Cornish.

As for the sensations I would happy with Croker, Ferguson, Fensom or Papali!!

Shaun Johnson just posted about 200 cards signed for elite on his twitter account

not sure if any one else has mentioned this but Shaun Johnson has 180 odd cards in front of him in this pic but ESP said they are limited to 105 if i am correct ??????

According to different people within ESP & Ikon they stated that there is 130, 200 or 260 young guns done in the traders series & since they are not numbered how do we really know what is correct??????

Now the next issue is if they tell you different numbers are signed then how good are the new security tags on the numbered cards??????

I was thinking this new series coming was looking good but I am back to being worried about what will actually be in there..........don't forget ESP has already taken cards out of a series, they jersey cards from traders????
